The purpose of this article is to highlight degree programs in colleges, namely the computer and software degree programs at Centennial College. Programs infuses Bachelor's Degree and Practical
Experience in College
Employers acknowledge the intensity of university programs but praise the
competencies of college graduates who can do the job. With the hands-on
experience colleges provide, students are job-ready within a few years. The
skills trade, services professions, and many careers can be started straight
from college, but some need further education to learn more about the field in
more detail.
In order to close the gap between degree programs and practical experience,
colleges are offering degree programs in their campuses. An additional year of
studies means that their three-year advanced diploma programs, which already
contain an intensive curriculum, are increased to a high level at a Bachelor's

A distinctive feature that Centennial has over other colleges is its diverse

different methods to teach students, to provide accessibility and inclusion. Its

programs that offer a Bachelor of Applied Information Sciences, and show

Computer and Communication Networks
Approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, this program
enhances the student's knowledge in computer networking through industry-
specific courses and those with business management. It combines the
theoretical portion of the classes with realistic assignments and projects,
where students will work in teams to achieve the objectives of the project.
Software Systems Design
Students take advanced courses in computer architecture, website design, and
database design. State-of-the-art laboratories are created specifically for this
group of learners. Students will apply their academic learning from classrooms

to lab practices then to major projects that involve the creation of software
systems.
Bridging to Software Systems Design
College graduates who have completed a programming or analyst program are
able to get a degree with this bridging program. The program takes two years
to complete, with the fourth semester starting with fifth semester courses,
which some Centennial students may already have the courses completed.
There are three software development projects that require students to apply
their knowledge when designing software applications for clients in the vertical
market.
These competitive programs are on-demands so students must meet the
minimum academic requirements and pass the eligibility criteria:
An Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, or must be at least
21 years of age and have a mature student status
A Grade 12 English in the university level, with a final grade of 65% or
higher
A Grade 12 mathematics course in the university level or university-
college level, with a final grade of 60% or higher
A resume may be requested, detailing the student's experience in this
field
Centennial College offers powerful programs that lead to Bachelor's degrees,
while still giving them the skills and aptitude for the demands of the
workplace. The wide-scope of realistic projects, involving real clients, help the
