I did my project on John Orcutt. He is a nature
photographer who lives in Kingfield, Maine. He and his
wife Cynthia, keep a gallery of their work called the
Schoolhouse Gallery. He attended Dartmouth College in
1959.

I looked at his work and I thought It was really
good. His photos were bright and colorful. He had
many galleries of different places he has been
and all of them had very nice photos. A lot of my
photos already looked like his as well.

“I want to be a photographer because it is very fun and enjoyable to take photos.”

“I just try to take the best photos I can.”

“It is very important. I plan to take pictures with a camera and camera equipment.”
What are your long-range goals?
“To take photos of nature and have fun.”
How successful have you been so far?
“I've already taken some really nice photos.”
Do I ever get tired of making photographs? – “I think everyone has his or her own pace when it comes to creative
efforts. There are times when I am distracted by business or production. At those times it is hard to find the
rhythm or the ability to concentrate as much as I would like to be able to capture images that really appeal to me.
So, the solution for me is to find time to clear out all of the distractions and get into a zone, where I see better and
can find compositions, light qualities and subject discoveries that are exciting to me.”

Have you ever gotten hurt taking a photo? “I have been scratched up and bruised a bit, gotten
wet, muddied, and had a few tick bites, but never any serious injury in the process of making photos
photographs.”
