Producers and Distributors of Horror Films
- 1. Who produces and distributes horror films?
- 2. Producers There are many production companies that produce horror films such as Rogue Pictures and Twisted Pictures. • Rogue Pictures have produced Seed of Chucky, The Unborn and The Strangers. • Twisted Pictures have produced some famous horror films including Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Purge and Nightmare on Elm Street.
- 3. Distributors • Lionsgate is very famous for distributing horror films. Some of these films include Cabin in the Woods and The Last Exorcism. • Hammer Films also distribute horror films (in the UK) and have distributed films including Woman in Black and The Curse of Frankenstein.
- 4. Sinister • Sinister was produced by many different production companies. These companies were Alliance Pictures, IM Global, BH Productions, Automatik and Possessed Pictures. • Sinister had different distributors for different countries but for the UK, the distributor was Momentum Pictures.
- 5. Carrie (1976) • Carrie was produced by the production company United Artists. • Carrie was distributed by United Artists in countries such as USA and Japan (theatrical release) however the DVD release was distributed by MGM Home Entertainment.
