Burstable Enterprise Shared Trunks (BEST) is a service enhancement for Verizon's VoIP services that allows customers to leverage trunking resources across their enterprise. With BEST, customers can utilize idle trunk capacity at one location to accommodate increased traffic at another location. This allows customers to purchase fewer concurrent call ports at each location while sharing resources across their enterprise. BEST tracks trunk usage and allows locations to "burst" over their ordered quantity if other locations have available capacity.

The document summarizes the key findings and development plan ideas from a case study conducted at the University of Strathclyde on embedding knowledge exchange. Interviews with 26 participants from academics to professional services staff confirmed that knowledge exchange is embedded in the university's strategy. However, some knowledge exchange activities are not directed or recorded. The development plan proposes improving systems to capture all types of knowledge exchange, representing information systems in strategic forums, and making knowledge exchange an explicit part of staff development. It also recommends continuous improvement of processes like CRM and establishing online registration systems.

This document discusses the benefits of carpet in educational facilities. It begins by outlining learning objectives related to how students, teachers, and schools experience carpet. It then provides statistics on schools in the US and discusses how carpet can help create healthy learning environments. The document discusses a survey of teachers that found most see advantages of carpet for acoustics, comfort, and flexibility. It also summarizes a case study of a school that installed carpet and saw improved student achievement and test scores. Overall, the document argues carpet provides physical benefits like comfort, safety from falls, and acoustic benefits by reducing noise; and non-physical benefits like stress reduction and signaling care for students. It also discusses carpet as a cost effective flooring option in terms

The New Distrowatch – Bachelor's thesis (SK)Jakub Žitný
This project hopes to bring new way to distribute information about vari- ous operating systems – especially multifarious Linux distributions but also other open-source systems. There are so many of them it is not easy to get to know or try out each one. The output of this work is design and imple- mentation of web application which displays information about operating systems on well designed pages. These information come from automatic procedures scanning the inside of operating systems and the Internet. Be- sides displaying information, the website gives a chance for visitors to try out specific operating systems right in their browser. This project is inspired by ideas behind distrowatch.com – a popular website providing updates and rankings of Linux distributions.

Tedsig aims to provide escrow services for cryptocurrency transfers to enable trustless transactions of higher values. Their goal is to combine legal and technical expertise to fill the gap left by conservative traditional financial institutions. They offer various escrow options with different levels of responsibility and security. For example, in a real estate transaction involving bitcoin, Tedsig would create a multi-signature wallet, oversee the bitcoin transfer upon signing contracts, and release the bitcoin once the property registration is complete. Tedsig seeks to make large cryptocurrency transfers fast and legally compliant without relying on banks or exchanges.

This document summarizes a presentation about managing servers remotely using a custom SSH client called DSSH. DSSH allows system administrators to securely manage multiple remote servers from a single client. It features scriptable SSH tunneling, dynamic host name resolution, centralized credential storage, and logging. The presentation outlines examples of how DSSH can be used to simplify administration tasks and work around limitations of standard SSH clients and tools like sudo. Future plans for DSSH include a lightweight client, SSL support, auditing, and a centralized server for credential and key management.
Processing.org is an open-source programming environment for creating graphics, animation, and interactions. It is based on the Java language but simplifies programming by removing the need to handle classes or exceptions. The Processing community shares code libraries and documentation online. Arduino is an open-source hardware platform similar to Processing that can be programmed to read sensors and control motors to interact with the physical world. Both Processing and Arduino aim to lower the barrier to entry for digital art, programming, and physical computing.
The document describes the first Slovak hackerspace called ProgressBAr. It will be located in Bratislava and aims to provide a space for people interested in technology and science to learn and socialize outside of traditional educational institutions. The hackerspace will have various working groups focused on different technical areas that will hold regular workshops and meetings. It will also provide infrastructure and resources for members to work on their own projects. The hackerspace plans to be financially supported through member fees and donations.
DSSH was written as a direct replacement for the OpenSSH client. It adds SSH over SSH tunneling capabilities (for example, to log in to a network hidden by a firewall), scripting support (using BeanShell), an advanced agent (which allows storing of passwords) and "su -" interactive logging for machines that have disabled direct root login. All of this was done to enable automated scripting and logging to many machines based on a few simple rules.
