The Petroleum Labour Market Information (PetroLMI) Division of Enform shares highlights from its latest labour market reports. We examine the implications of the current downturn on the oil and gas labour market in Canada as well as the opportunities the development of a potential liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector could provide.
Additionally, PetroLMI recently released 15 LNG occupational profiles, which will feed into the Careers in Oil + Gas skills transferability tool. An overview of the profiles is provided as well as a quick run-through of the tool in its early stages of development.

The UKโs major regional cities are now being recognised as drivers of the countryโs economic recovery and growth.
Taking a lead on the debate, the Greater Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP), along with its partners, has worked with Lord Heseltine to examine how recommendations from his โNo Stone Unturnedโ report โ endorsed by the Chancellor in this monthโs Budget โ could work in practice in the UKโs largest regional city and its surrounding area. The Greater Birmingham Project report was launched earlier this month and advocated Lord Heseltineโs idea of a โSingle Potโ of funding allocated from central government to local areas โ giving LEPs the chance to tailor spending to local priorities.
With the Chancellorโs endorsement of the โSingle Potโ โ a move that could signal a revolution in how Whitehall operates and interacts with local areas - the challenge is now for partners to work together to devise Greater Birmingham's bid to the fund. The size of the national fund will be announced in late June and could come into effect by April 2015.
Andy Street, Chair of the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), will join us to provide an insight into The Greater Birmingham Project report and discuss how local businesses can help the LEP and its partners take up the challenge and create a compelling bid for the โSingle Potโ โ an opportunity not to be missed.

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
ย
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.
