Pupils at Northfield Academy are staging a production of the rock musical "Little Shop of Horrors" at the end of the month. About 40 children and young people will take on roles in the show, telling the story of a florist who raises a carnivorous plant on human blood. The principal teacher of creative arts believes the pupils have worked hard and are excited to perform. The school head teacher sees the production as showcasing the students' talents and dedication outside the classroom.

Remembrance
Remembrance Day, also known as Poppy Day, is commemorated on November 11th each year to honor military personnel who have died in wars. It marks the anniversary of the end of World War I in 1918. Traditionally, a two minute silence is observed at 11am and many people wear red poppies, which became a symbol of remembrance after growing on World War I battlefields. Remembrance Day is used to remember those who have died in all wars and continues to be an important tradition.

Citizenship assembly
Global Citizenship will be the whole school theme for the year, with assemblies and lessons exploring themes each term. Students will gain experience in global citizenship through a variety of classes and whole school events. Each term will conclude with house assemblies led by students to share what they have learned. Committees made up of teachers and students will coordinate citizenship and charity fundraising efforts, and various clubs will also provide opportunities for students to get involved.

The BRIT School says farewell to two long-serving deputy principals, Lloyd Marshall and Jacqui Pick, who are retiring after over 70 years of service between them. They inspired countless students and staff during their tenures.
The school also hosted workshops for current Musical Theatre students led by alumni working in the industry, covering career options and practical industry skills. A dance piece by Musical Theatre students won a national competition.
Maths students participated in outdoor learning activities during the last week of term like treasure hunts and creating symmetrical patterns on the ground. Exchange trips to Germany, Spain and France provided cultural and language immersion experiences for students.
