HUD awarded $943,719 in homeless grants to programs in Tarrant County, Texas. The grants will fund transitional and permanent housing as well as support services for homeless individuals and families. Cindy Crain of the Tarrant County Homeless Coalition said the new permanent supportive housing programs will allow them to meet their goal of ending chronic homelessness in just three years rather than six. The grants will also expand housing and services for unsheltered and veteran homeless populations in the area.
