A study published in PNAS found that computers can accurately predict personality traits like openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism based on a person's Facebook likes. The computer was able to determine personalities more accurately than friends after analyzing just 10 likes, more accurately than family after 150 likes, and almost as accurately as a spouse after 300 likes. This suggests that with more digital data, computers may be able to understand people as well as close friends and family. However, some personality traits may still be best judged by humans.
