Sindh is a province in southeast Pakistan located along the Indus River. It has a population of over 50 million and its largest city and economic center is Karachi. Sindh has a long history as part of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization and is home to the well-preserved site of Mohenjo-Daro from around 2500 BCE, which was one of the world's earliest major cities. Sindh's economy is based around industry in Karachi and agriculture in the rest of the province, producing fruits, vegetables and other crops. The province has a distinct Sindhi culture that is influenced by Sufism and is home to ethnic Sindhis and Muhajir peoples.
