I Interviewed her.

• Born: July 13,1966
• Born and raised: Mexico City
• At what Age did she come to the States: 25 years old.

Immigration
• Immigration: The action of coming to live
permanently in a foreign country.
• My mother decided to immigrate to the U.S in 1990 as part of
the Fourth Wave of Immigration.
• This choice was due to the economic factors at home,
knowing there was so many opportunities in the U.S
encouraged them to come here.
Economic Factors
• Economic factors are particularly important with
regards to migration.
• There can push or pull factors when it comes to the
Economic Factor whether it’s a positive or negative.
• Mexico’s economy has never been stable.
• My mother needed a higher paying job to help her
family.
Push Factors
• Push Factors: A force that drives people away from a
place.
• Main push factors that pushed my mother to leave
her country were..
• Lack of job opportunities
• Education
• Political Issues, corruption
Pull Factors
• Pull Factors: Is what draws people to a new
location.
• The main Pull Factors that influenced my mother
were:
• Employment opportunities
• Economic opportunities
• Greater educational opportunities
• Overall a greater lifestlye
Education
• Education: the process of receiving or giving
systematic instruction, especially at a school or
university.
• My mother only finished high school when she was living in
Mexico.
• She wanted us to go college have our career, wanted us to be
independent.
• Mexico’s education is very different from the education here,
no one really pays attention to it unless you have money.
