Film institutions are companies that produce and distribute films, such as Universal Studios, Warner Brothers, Pixar, and others. Media conglomerates are groups of businesses, including film studios, that pool resources to fund large film productions and achieve greater profits through synergies like releasing a film in theaters owned by the same parent company. Synergy occurs when different business units of a conglomerate cooperate to amplify the impact and earnings of a new film.
