3.  Ang kanyang Tiyuhin ang nagpaaral sakanya.
 Nagpunta siya sa Magdalen Hall sa Oxford England
para mag-aral sa edad na labing apat.
 Siya ay matalinong studyante, magaling siya sa Latin at
Griyego.
 Nilisan niya ang Oxford noong 1608.

4.  Siya ay naglakbay kasama ang kanyang estudyante noong
1610 sa France, Germany at Italy.
 Naging pribadong guro sa panganay na anak ni Lord
Cavendish Hardwick o Earl of Devonshire.
 Nagtungo siya sa London para ipagpatuloy ang kanyang
pag-aaral.

 Herbert of Cherbury
 Ben Johnson
 Si Hobbes konektado parin sa pamilyang Cavendish
 1628 namatay ang anak ni Cavendish
 Pero bumalik siya para turuan ang isa pang anak ni
Cavendish.

7.  Sa Paris, nilaan niya ang oras niya kasama Mersenne,
Descartes, Gassendi sa Florence at si Galileo.
 Noong 1629 isinalin niya ang “THUCYDIDES”
 1630,”Short tract on Firt Principles”
 Mula 1634-1637 bumalik siya kasama ang kanyang
Estudyante.

8. Noong bumalik siya sa england
isunulat niya ang “the Elements of
Law Natural and Politics”
Ang unang labing tatlong tsapter
ay inilimbag noong 1650 na may
pamagat na “ Human Nature”
At ang natirang gawa niya ay
pinamagatang “De Corpore
Politico”

9.  1640 pumunta siya sa France at namalagi ng labing isang
taon.
 Siya ay nagplano para sa kanyang pilosopiya na may
Tatlong anyo:
 Matter/body
 Human Nature
 Society

LEVIATHAN- pinaka kontrobersyal na
ginawa ni Hobbes.
Solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.
1656 “ the questions concerning liberty,
necessily and chance.”
1655 “de corpore” at 1656 “de homine”

14.  1668 nilathala sa Amsterdam ang laviathan.
 1668, Dialogue between the philosopher and a

 May mga ginawa siya na hindi pa nilalathala tulad
ng “ heresy at behemoth”
 History of the causes of the civil war of England.

16.  Patuloy siyang nagsulat , at isinulat niya ang kanyang buhay
sa Latin. Sa edad na walong pu’t apat.
 Isinalin din niya ang “iliad and the odyssey”
 1675, nilisan niya ang London. Sa huling pagkakataon
tumira siya sa pamilyang Cavendish sa Derbyshire.
 Si hobbes ay namatay noong Disyembre 4, 1679 sa
Hardwick.

17. MGA TANYAG NA LINYA NI THOMAS HOBBES
 A man cannot lay down the right of resisting them that
assault him by force, to take away is life.
 A man conscience and his judgement is the same thing and
as the judgement, so also the conscience, maybe
erroneous.
 A wise man should so write (through in words understood by
all men) that wise men only should be able to commend
him.
 Curiosity is the lust of the mind.

a war, as if of everyman against everyman.”
 Fear of thing invisible in the nature seed of that which
