Presentation Rubric
In a professional career, one may be called upon to conduct research and deliver findings in professional settings. No matter how extensive the research or accurate the conclusions, a weak presentation can undermine an argument. A presentation is a tool to assist in making an argument. When creating presentations, students develop skills in researching an issue, synthesizing the information, organizing data logically, and presenting findings in an effective manner.
Principles of an Effective Presentation:
· You may utilize a product such as Microsoft’s PowerPoint or Google Presentation to create your presentation.
· There are various template designs that you can find on the web for your presentation. However, first consider your presentation from the perspective of your audience prior to selecting a specific style. Distracting backgrounds, large blocks of text, all uppercase fonts, elaborate font styles, grammatical errors, and misspellings are distracting. Be consistent with the style of text, bullets, and sub-points in order to support a powerful presentation that allows your content to be the focus.
· Each slide should include your key point(s). Do not place large blocks of text on the visual. Your presentation is not a means of presenting a short paper. In an actual presentation you would not “read” from your slides but rather use them as prompts.
· Any notes or narration you would use in delivering this presentation to a group should be listed in the “notes” section of the slide.
· References should be listed at the bottom of the slide in slightly smaller text.
· Use clip art, AutoShapes, pictures, charts, tables, and diagrams to enhance but not overwhelm your content.
· Be mindful of the intended audience and seek to assess the presentation’s effectiveness by gauging audience comprehension (when possible).

Research Paper Guidelines and Rubric
Overview
The final project for this course is the creation of a research paper. You will be examining organizational behavior and how it affects corporate strategy and decision making. This project will enable you to identify alternatives and recommend thoroughly defended strategies that leaders can use for best practices.
You will select an organizational behavior (OB) topic to research and write about. The topic must be approved by the instructor. This final product represents an authentic demonstration of the competencies achieved in this course as you put into action all that you have learned. The project is divided into three milestones and a final product, which will be submitted at various points throughout the course to scaffold learning and ensure quality final submissions.
Critical Elements
Expectation of Analysis: Please see the Final Product Rubric below for grading criteria. Pay close attention to each critical element and how you will address it in your final paper.
1. Define the central OB issue or problem.
a. Substantiate multiple aspects of the problem or issue in detail.
i. Include factors like:
a. Key players and their role in the OB issue or problem (internal and/or external)
b. Key stakeholder groups (i.e., employees, customers, communities) and their role in the OB issue or problem (internal and/or external)
c. Values and behaviors (internal)
d. Culture and structure (internal)
e. Design processes (internal)
f. Reward systems (internal)
g. Economic and policy instruments used by the government (external)
2. Recommend at least three solutions for the issue or problem.
a. Explain each solution and its relevance to the context of the OB issue.
b. Defend the selection of each solution by:
i. Interpreting and applying course concepts and theories to your defense when they are applicable
ii. Citing specific examples/scenarios showing the application of your solutions
iii. Recommending strategies for success that are supported by valid and reliable scholarly resources
3. Determine an implementation strategy for each proposed solution. Be sure to include deliberate implementation strategies around OB and best practices that take into consideration the dynamics of the groups involved.
4. Conclusion
a. Write a summary focusing on key elements of your final product.
b. Tie the key elements of your proposals and implementation strategies to the issue, highlighting the positive effects the proposal will have on the performance of the organization.
The final project has three milestones. The purpose of milestones is to keep you on target and allow time for incorporating instructor feedback. Milestone 3 is a “dress rehearsal” for the final product; the same rubric is used to access Milestone 3 and your final product.

Week 4 Written Assignment Stored Procedures as a Security Measure
In our readings we have learned the importance of connections and the use of stored procedures and functions. For this assignment we will look at stored procedure and function methods related to securing connections and data in the database.
Note: Don’t forget your Oracle 11g documentation resource for the how to examples.
For this assignment you are required to do BOTH Part A and Part B
Part A
Submit short answers thatdiscuss the following questions:
1. What are the advantages of using stored procedures and functions in Oracle?
2. Oracle automatically tracks all object interdependencies for every PL/SQL stored object. What does this include? When does Oracle automatically recompile a stored procedure?
3. What is gained when using stored procedures in a client/server environment? What is the difference between stored procedures and function? When you create a procedure or function, you may define parameters. What types of parameters can be declared?
Lab Password Policy
Your task is to develop a single SQL script that will perform all the following tasks of enforcing password complexity:
1. Connect to SYS user.
2. Create a password complexity function (named as "is481_password") to enforce the following requirements so that the password
· Is at least six (6) characters long
· Differs from the user name
· Has at least one alpha, one numeric, and one punctuation mark character
· Is not simple or obvious, such as welcome, account , oracle, database , or user.
· Differs from the previous password by at least 3 characters
Please note the exact spelling on the function name is REQIRED.
Please note the double quotation mark (") was not a part of the specified function name.
3. Create a profile named is481_prof with the following specifications. Please note the exact spelling on the profile is REQIRED. Test your code before submission.
Number of days the password is valid before it is aged out.
60 days
Number of days ahead of expiration the user is warned about the password expiration.
1 day
Number of days before a password can be reused.
30 days
Number of times a password can be reused.
UNLIMITED
Number of failed login tries allowed before the account is locked.
3
Number of days an account is locked due to failed login tries
13 days
PASSWORD_VERIFY_FUNCTION
is481_password
4. Assign the above profile to user DBSEC that you have already created. (15 points)
Tips:
1. One SQL(PL/SQL) file is required to complete all the above tasks.
3. Typical syntax on connecting to SYS is: "conn sys/password as sysdba;"
Submission Requirement:
The SQL script file and the screen capture of your creation will be required for full credit.

· Milestone 3: Rough draft “dress rehearsal” of research paper (Module Seven: 10–12 pages, not including title and reference pages)
· Final Paper: Final research paper (M ...

Assessment item 1: Case Study Analysis
Weighting: 45%
Task: Working individually, students research and analyse an existing online documentary project that
engages with their own research, interests or professional concerns. Students will critically reflect on the
selected project, discussing issues such as the context, platform choice, interface design, structure and
navigation, user experience, social media integration, innovation or other relevant issues.
Length: 1500 words and 5-8 annotated screen grabs
Due: 10am Monday 30 August 2021
Criteria:
• Clarity of report. 30%
• Depth of analysis. 35%
• Depth of relevant critical reflection and analysis with regard to issues examined during classes 35%
Further Information:
Write a 1500 word report supplemented by 5-8 annotated screen grabs analysing an existing online
documentary project that is of interest to you and intersects with your own research, interests or
professional concerns. You are drawing out and expanding on issues we discuss in early classes concerning
platform choice, audience, interface design, structure and navigation, user experience, social media
integration, innovation, etc. You should attempt to include academic references where relevant - the
readings in the course outline are a good starting point.
You should include a short general synopsis/background context:
• what is it?
• who produced it?
• what is its purpose?
• If it falls within a particular genre, e.g., serious game, data visualisation, transmedia, VR, AR, etc. -
let us know
You also need to reflect and comment on issues such as:
• Platform choice
• The interface design
• The project structure/architecture
• The user experience – including a description of the kind of experience being crafted for an
audience (e.g. exploration of an environment; exploring an unfolding story over multiple scenes or
chapters; a game-like experience or serious game; accessing multiple points of view; project crafted
specifically for a mobile or location specific experience; social media focused experience that plays
out over a specific timeframe; data-driven experience; VR experience placing you inside an
environment and narrative experience, etc.)
• You should also discuss issues such as degree of non-linear navigation/ exploration, its usability
i.e., how easy, or intuitive is it to find, get to or navigate through content? How smooth and
intuitive are the interactions? Is it complex or confusing to use?
• Does it utilise social media in interesting ways? How is social media integrated in the project?
• Is it in some way innovative that is worth noting?
You might wish to discuss how it draws upon affordances relating to interactive digital media, e.g.
participation; interaction; liveness; virtuality; location; multiple POV etc.

PROBLEM 14-7AProblem 14-7AQuestion 1a) Debt to equity ratiosPulaski CompanyScott Company Total liabilities$360,000.00$240,000.00Total Equity$500,000.00$200,000.00Debt-Equity Ratio0.721.2Question 2The debt to equity ratio measures the amount of debt a company uses has to finance its business for every dollar of equity it has. A higher debt to equity ratio implies that a company uses more debt than equity for financing. In this case, the debt to equity ratio for Pulaski Company is 0.72 which is less than 1 implying that the stockholder's equity exceeds the amount of debt borrowed. Thus Pulaski Company may not likely suffer from risks brought about by huge amount of debts in the capital structure. On the other hand, the debt to equity ratio of Scott Company is 1.2 which is greater than 1 implying that the debt exceeds the totalamount stockholders equity. Huge debts is associated with a lot of risks. First, there is the risk of defaulting whereby the company may be unable to repay its debt and therefore leading to bankruptcy. Second, a company may find it difficult to obtain additional funding from creditors. This is because the creditors prefer companies with low debt to equity ratio. Finally, there is the risks of violating the debt covenants. A covenant is an agreement that requires a company to maintain adequate financial ratio levels. Too much borrowings may violate this covenant. Since ScottCompany has a higher debt to equity ratio, it may experience these risks which may eventually lead to the company being declared bankrupt .

EXERCISE 11 USING STATISTICS TO DESCRIBE A STUDY SAMPLE
STATISTICAL TECHNIQUE IN REVIEW
Most studies describe the subjects that comprise the study sample. This description of the sample is called the sample characteristics which may be presented in a table or the narrative of the article. The sample characteristics are often presented for each of the groups in a study (i.e. experimental and control groups). Descriptive statistics are used to generate sample characteristics, and the type of statistic used depends on the level of measurement of the demographic variables included in a study (Burns & Grove, 2007). For example, measuring gender produces nominal level data that can be described using frequencies, percentages, and mode. Measuring educational level usually produces ordinal data that can be described using frequencies, percentages, mode, median, and range. Obtaining each subject's specific age is an example of ratio data that can be described using mean, range, and standard deviation. Interval and ratio data are analyzed with the same type of statistics and are usually referred to as interval/ratio level data in this text.

Introduction
Troy and Dalgas-Pelish (2003) conducted a quasi-experimental study to determine the effectiveness of a self-care intervention (Tiredness Management Guide [TMG]) on postpartum fatigue. The study subjects included 68 primiparous mothers, who were randomly assigned to either the experimental group (32 subjects) or the control group (36 subjects) using a computer program. The results of the study indicated that the TMG was effective in reducing levels of morning postpartum fatigue from the 2nd to 4th weeks postpartum. These researchers recommend that “mothers need to be informed that they will probably experience postpartum fatigue and be taught to assess and manage this phenomenon” (Troy & Dalgas-Pelish, 2003, pp. 44-5).
Relevant Study Results
“A total of 80 women were initially enrolled [in the study] … twelve of these women dropped out of the study resulting in a final sample of 68.” (Troy & Dalgas-Pelish, 2003, p. 39). The researchers presen.

Review enough information about Trinidad Drilling Ltd. to propose a vision and strategic objectives for the company. Develop a balanced scorecard that will help the company achieve this vision and monitor how well it is accomplishing its strategic objectives. Include a strategy map in table format that shows objectives and performance measures, with arrows illustrating hypothesized cause-and -effect relationships. Provide rationale for your strategy map. The body of your report should not exceed 1,000 words. Cite material you used to prepare the response and provide references in an appendix.
Problem 2 (20 marks)
Ajax Auto Upholstery Ltd. manufactures upholstered products for automobiles, vans, and trucks. Among the various Ajax plants around Canada is the Owlseye plant located in rural Alberta.
The chief financial officer has just received a report indicating that Ajax could purchase the entire annual output of the Owlseye plant from a foreign supplier for $37 million per year.
The budgeted operating costs (in thousands) for the Owlseye plant’s for the coming year is as follows:
Materials $15,000
Labor
Direct $12,000
Supervision 4,000
Indirect plant 5,000 19,000
Overhead
Depreciation – plant 6,000
Utilities, property tax, maintenance 2,000
Pension expense 4,500
Plant manager and staff 2,500
Corporate headquarters overhead allocation 3,000 18,000
Total budgeted costs $52,000
If material purchase orders are cancelled as a consequence of the plant closing, termination charges would amount to 10 percent of the annual cost of direct materials in the first year (zero thereafter).
A clause in the Ajax union contract requires the company to provide employment assistance to its former employees for 12 months after a plant closes. The estimated cost to administer this service if the Owlseye plant closes would be $2 million. $3.6 million of next year’s pension expense would continue indefinitely whether or not the plant remains open. About $900,000 of labour would still be required in the first year after closure to decommission the plant. After that, the plant would be sold for an estimated $1 million. Utilities, property taxes, and maintenance costs would remain unchanged in the first year after closure, but disappear when the plant is sold.
The plant manager and her staff would be somewhat affected by the closing of the Owlseye plant. Some managers would still be responsible for managing three other plants. As a result, total management salaries would be about 50% of the current level, starting at closure and remaining into the future.
Required:
Assume you are the company’s chief financial officer. Perform a five-year financial analysis and make a recommendation whether to close the Owlseye plant on this basis. Provide support for and cautions about your recommendation with organized, clearly-labeled data. Use bullet points where appropriate.

Problem 7 (20 points)*: In the 1990, the northern spotted owl became the center of a
nationwide controversy over the use and misuse of the majestic forests in the Pacific
Northwest. Environmentalists convinced the federal government that the owl was
threatened with extinction if logging continued in the old-growth forests (with trees over
200 years old), where the owls prefer to live. The timber industry, anticipating the loss of
30,000 to 100,000 jobs as a result of new government restrictions on logging, argued that
the owl should not be classified as a “threatened species” and cited a number of published
scientific reports to support its case.
Caught in the crossfire of the two lobbying groups, mathematical ecologists
intensified their drive to understand the population dynamics of the spotted owl. The life
cycle of a spotted owl divides naturally into three stages: juvenile (up to 1 year old),
subadult (1 to 2 years), and adult (over 2 years). The owls mate for life during the subadult
and adult stages, begin to breed as adults, and live for up to 20 years. Each owl pair
requires about 1,000 hectares (4 square miles) for its own home territory. A critical time in
the life cycle is when the juveniles leave the nest. To survive and become a subadult, a
juvenile must successfully find a new home range (and usually a mate).
A first step in studying the population dynamics is to model the population at yearly
intervals, at times denoted by 𝑘𝑘 = 0,1,2, …. Usually, one assumes that there is a 1:1 ratio of
males to females in each life stage and counts only the females. The population at year 𝑘𝑘
can be described by a vector 𝒙𝒙𝒌𝒌 = (𝑗𝑗𝑘𝑘 , 𝑠𝑠𝑘𝑘 , 𝑎𝑎𝑘𝑘 ), where 𝑗𝑗𝑘𝑘 , 𝑠𝑠𝑘𝑘 , and 𝑎𝑎𝑘𝑘 are the numbers of
females in the juvenile, subadult, and adult stages, respectively. Using actual field data from
demographic studies, a rese

Acetabularia Information For Class 9 .docxvaibhavrinwa19
Acetabularia acetabulum is a single-celled green alga that in its vegetative state is morphologically differentiated into a basal rhizoid and an axially elongated stalk, which bears whorls of branching hairs. The single diploid nucleus resides in the rhizoid.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
Presentation RubricIn a professional career, one may be ca.docx
1. Presentation Rubric
In a professional career, one may be called upon to conduct
research and deliver findings in professional settings. No matter
how extensive the research or accurate the conclusions, a weak
presentation can undermine an argument. A presentation is a
tool to assist in making an argument. When creating
presentations, students develop skills in researching an issue,
synthesizing the information, organizing data logically, and
presenting findings in an effective manner.
Principles of an Effective Presentation:
· You may utilize a product such as Microsoft’s PowerPoint or
Google Presentation to create your presentation.
· There are various template designs that you can find on the
web for your presentation. However, first consider your
presentation from the perspective of your audience prior to
selecting a specific style. Distracting backgrounds, large blocks
of text, all uppercase fonts, elaborate font styles, grammatical
errors, and misspellings are distracting. Be consistent with the
style of text, bullets, and sub-points in order to support a
powerful presentation that allows your content to be the focus.
· Each slide should include your key point(s). Do not place
large blocks of text on the visual. Your presentation is not a
means of presenting a short paper. In an actual presentation you
would not “read” from your slides but rather use them as
prompts.
· Any notes or narration you would use in delivering this
presentation to a group should be listed in the “notes” section of
the slide.
· References should be listed at the bottom of the slide in
slightly smaller text.
2. · Use clip art, AutoShapes, pictures, charts, tables, and
diagrams to enhance but not overwhelm your content.
· Be mindful of the intended audience and seek to assess the
presentation’s effectiveness by gauging audience
comprehension (when possible).
Below are some links that offer helpful tips and examples for
developing your presentations:

Guidelines for Submission: When applicable, discipline-
appropriate citations must be used.
