The AMI School
      JUNIOR BRANCH
The AMI School has been growing and changing over the years. Throughout the
Long history of the school and the many changes that have been integrated, one
thing that is most obvious is our passion and commitment to our children and
families.
All our efforts and resources are directed towards providing the best practices in
education with acceptance of diversity, respect of individuality and working
Together as the cornerstones of our policies.

Welcome to the vibrant and exciting years of The AMI School’s Junior Branch.

We lead the students to intellectual excellence and a strong character by ensuring
that these years are full of opportunities to explore their potential and abilities.
Morning assembly and break/afternoon assembly are the most important
part of day and provide a wonderful opportunity for announcements,
skits, presentations, introductions and sharing information.
A school canteen facility is available, providing snacks, which are hygienically
prepared at the school kitchen. The most favorite among students are the
scrumptious kebab rolls and French fries !
At Junior Branch, students are divided into four houses:: Kites, Hawks, Eagles
and Falcons. Annual elections are held for House Captains and Vice Captains.
They are responsible for the general discipline and also represent their
houses in sports and other House events.

activities
 Popcorn day

 Creepy day

 Food Gala: Organized to collect money for
buying a table tennis table and some play
equipment for Junior Branch.
The A.M.I. School believes that the cognitive skills gained through core
academic coursework are critical, but that it is equally important for
children to develop the social and emotional skills essential for lifelong
success – skills best learned through a well-rounded, "holistic" curriculum.
This holistic approach to education encourages students to explore ideas
and experiences that will help them become responsible and active
participants in society.
Our ‘"Life Skills Program" aims to integrate the learning of such skills in the
school. It has been introduced at the Junior and Senior and includes the
  following courses:

                                               Taekwondo

                  Roller skating
Pottery/ Creative Clay

                                                                   Theatre

      Organic gardening
(Added to Life Skills Program for 2012-2013)

Expert instructors and teachers are hired for these courses and the
classes are held every week. More courses are being added to create
a wider spectrum of interests and experiences for the students.
The Right-On Network is a youth network group initiated by CMPHR. Children
under the age of 16 can join to work for social issues and human rights. We
are very proud of the fact that a Right-On club has been working at the school
for several years now. The main aims of the club is to help students:-

 Learn skills such as problem solving, conflict resolution and communication
 Realize that they can contribute towards creating a society which respects
    equality, diversity and values peace.
 Realize that they should not follow the current trends and norms without
    really thinking them through.
 Participate in social activism to bring positive changes in the society with non
    violent means.
 Introduced nearly two years ago, awards are given to recognize and
encourage effort and hard work . A wide spectrum has been created to
provide opportunities for all to develop a sense of achievement and success.
The students are awarded in the following categories:

 - Superstar: Good conduct, responsible behavior, punctuality.
 - Rising star: Outstanding performance in co-curricular activities.
 - Good Citizenship: Responsible social behavior
 - Perfect attendance: Present every school day
 - Honor Roll: Academic achievement
 - The A.M.I Scholar: Best writer of prose or poem (Class V-VI)
 WWF has been conducting Spellathon: an environmental
based spelling competition in schools across the nation
since 15 years. It helps increase language skills including
comprehension and vocabulary. More over, children
learn about key environmental issues and need for
conservation in a fun and easy manner. Our school also
takes part in this activity every year to raise funds for the
different conservation projects run by the World Wildlife
    Fund.
 This competition is organized by an International
    Association “Mathematics without borders”. It
provides an International recognition to the
participating students at a very early stage in their
lives. At the same time it connects the students with
    worldwide community.
 The competition is usually held in March every year.
 As part of its DAWN Education Program, the DAWN Group of Newspaper
conducts National Spelling Championships all over Pakistan. They hold this
    championship on three levels:

 District Round
 Regional Championship
 National Championship

Our students regularly takes part in this competition
“Reading is the key to unlocking children’s
future success”

A yearlong reading program which is aimed to
develop a love of reading. A new theme is
introduced at the beginning of each month
and various activities are planned to
encourage everyone to read some material
related to the theme! The most popular
themes are usually mystery, fantasy,
adventure and favorite author.
The “ drop everything and read “ (D.E.A.R.)
activity is thoroughly enjoyed by all as the
freedom to choose the setting for reading a
book is so exciting when it can be up a tree or
inside a tunnel
A project initiated and run by a group of individuals to involve the youth in
bringing about a change by getting actively involved in this process

Through this project children identify the change they want to see in their
society and take steps to make it happen.
As a part of this activity, students visited nearby school/offices to create
awareness and later took steps to protect their surroundings.

This initiative was named “Shaffaf Galiyan” and contributed greatly to the
cleanliness and beautification of the area.
 The members of the club are:-

 Ms. Naheed Saif (Nursery Branch)
 Ms. Nabila Badar (Nursery Branch)
 Ms. Seema Iqbal (Junior Branch)
 Ms. Ambreen Jahan (Junior Branch)

 Aims and objectives:-
 to enhance creative and writing skills in children
 to develop interest in Urdu language
