2. PROCESSION OF LA DIVINA PASTORA DE
BARQUISIMETO
Every 14th of January the Procession of La
Divina Pastora de Barquisimeto, Lara State, is
celebrated, filling the avenues of the route with a
massive and fervent Marian procession,
considered the largest in the world, where the
image comes from its temple in the neighboring
town of Santa Rosa and is carried on the
shoulders to the Cathedral of Barquisimeto, in
an approximate distance of 7.5 km.
3. VIRGIN OF COROMOTO,
PATRON OF VENEZUELA
The Virgin of Coromoto is a Marian
advocation venerated by Venezuelans and
is the Patroness of Venezuela. Santa
María de Coromoto in Guanare de los
Cospes appeared in 1652 to the Coromoto
Cacique of the Cospes Indians who
inhabited the jungles of Portuguesa, in
Venezuela, hence his name and devotion.

OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The religious fervor of the margariteño has its greater
expression in the veneration to the Virgin of the Valley of the
Holy Spirit, employer of the east and of the islands of
Venezuela. In its commemoration, a procession takes place
throughout the town on September 8 of each year in
commemoration of the Patron Saint Festivities in honor of the
Virgin of the Valley held since 1955, attended by devotees from
the island and the mainland. especially from the eastern states
of the country.
