Implementation in Greece
 Before the questionnaire was available to the
public, the students of the course “Political Web
Surveys” were invited to fill in the relevant
questionnaire and give their comments on the
language it was used.
 These comments were taken into account to
improve the translation of the questionnaire.
6
Implementation in Greece
 The International Social Survey on the Family and
Changing Gender Roles 2022, which was carried
out using an online questionnaire, was approved
by the AUTH Research Ethics Committee.
 Showing that the questionnaire fully complies
with the principles and values stated in the Code
of Ethics of the above-mentioned competent
Committee of AUTH improves response rates.
7
Implementation in Greece: ISSP 2022
and 2023
 For a subset of the respondents, we created a
questionnaire which contains both the questions
of the ISSP 2022 focused on family and changing
gender roles and the questions of the ISSP 2023
about national identity and citizenship. So, the
randomly selected participants of the
consolidated questionnaire firstly answered the
questions of the ISSP 2022 and immediately after
the questions of the ISSP 2023.

Items for DATIS
 Main objectives of the DATIS are:
• to provide an in-depth and integrated quantitative
framework of analysis for the foes and friends of
inclusiveness in Greece.
• to trace and analyze the attitudes towards inclusive
societies among the Greek political elites and political
parties.
• to measure levels of hostility towards inclusive
society at the mass level.
 For this reason, we use items from ISSP 2022 survey,
in order to collect data about alternative family
forms.

Data Analysis

Conclusions
 Progressive and left-wing parties' voters support the
statement that a single mother can bring up her child as well
as a married couple vs conservative and right-wing parties'
voters.
 Progressive and left-wing parties' voters support the
statement that same-sex male couples can bring up a child
as well as a male-female couple vs conservative and right-
wing parties' voters.
 Progressive and left-wing parties' voters typically disagree
with the statement that marriage should be a prerequisite
for having children.
 What do ND and Greek Solution voters think about children
without marriage?
14
Conclusions
 Significant ideological divides in Greek society
about family structures and LGBTQ+ rights,
influenced by political party affiliation and broader
social beliefs.
 Some preliminary findings using data from the
survey that included both ISSP 2022 and ISSP 2023
questionnaires.
 More comprehensive and complex analyses will
follow once the entire dataset ISSP 2022 has been
fully cleaned and processed.
