Anne Frank kept a diary from June 12, 1942 to August 1, 1944 while hiding from the Nazis with her family in Amsterdam. She recorded her experiences in the Secret Annex until she and her sister were discovered and sent to concentration camps, where Anne died at the age of 15 in Bergen-Belsen. Her father, Otto Frank, was the only family member to survive and he later published her diary, which has become one of the most widely read books in the world.
