WCG has been administering large-scale employment programs since 2000
 Triumph Vocational Services : Employment Program for Persons with Disabilities
 BC Employment Program (delivered as Job Wave)
(PS:- These contracts concluded in spring 2012, and served approximately 10 000
participants per year)
 Service Ability Training Program : Provides Service-sector focused training and
certification to participants in Courtenay and the Comox Valley, B.C., and specializes in
connecting retail and service-based employers with qualified employees
TRAINING& Development
WCG has works with provincial and federal governments to develop and deliver individual
and group training programs for adult learners of varying skill levels and backgrounds.
Programs are specific to a diverse client base consisting of employers (small business owners,
executive and management professionals, trades/retail professionals) and job seekers .

VOCATIONALREHABILITATION
WCG has provided community-based, employment, training and case management
services since 1994. Services commerce with the VRS conducting an initial vocational
assessment that will lay out what will be required to be completed to develop an individual
vocational rehabilitation plan.
The Initial Vocational Assessment (IVA) is developed by collecting and analyzing
information from primary sources (an in-person interview with participants in their
home, referral file information, physician interview and employer interview if applicable)
to determine an individual’s potential for vocational rehabilitation or vocational assistance.
The following components are included in this assessment:
 Summary of the participant’s medical/ health condition and any health related issues
that will potentially impact return to work
 Education / vocational profile
 Summary of skills
 Financial situation as described by the participant and observed by the Vocational
Rehabilitation Specialist (VRS)
 Participant’s motivation to participate in a return-to-work plan
 Strengths and barriers to return to work
 Recommendations including a clear statement regarding the participant’s vocational
VOCATIONALREHABILITATION
Range of assessment services;
The assessment phase will continue with the following internal assessments……..
 Transferable Skills Analysis (TSA): this is recommended, based on transferable skills, utilizing the
QuickNoc Pro to determine viable occupational choices he could undertake that do not require
further education or training.
 Vocational Interest Testing: which will include interest assessment and vocational counselling to
assist with identifying a minimum of two occupational goals. The tests will include the: COPS
Interest Inventory (COPS); Career Orientation Placement & Evaluation Survey (COPES); Holland
Self-Directed Search (SDS); and/or Canadian Work Preference Inventory (CWPI).
 Labour Market Assessment (LMA): once a minimum of two potential occupations have been
identified, the LMA will provide a general understanding of the current and projected labour
market trends for these occupations, identify current job availability within the participant’s
geographic area, identify average wages, employment requirements, training/education required
and available training options.
Vocational Assessment Summary Report (VASR): This report summarizes the results of all of the
research conducted and provides an assessment of the participant’s vocational potential and makes
recommendations for the next step.
VOCATIONALREHABILITATION
Range of assessment services;
The following are assessments that would support any interventions that may be required to support
a vocational rehabilitation plan and we use an extensive provider network across Canada.
 A Psycho Vocational Assessment (PVA) may be required when there is a need to determine
the participant’s capacity for suitable gainful employment in civilian life given the participants
current state of health, education, skills and experience.
Noting these are completed by a registered psychologist
 A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)/Functional Abilities Evaluation (FAE) may be
required when there is a need to determine the participant’s functional abilities and limitations
given their current state of health, reported impairments/injuries and/or limitations in performing
work tasks and activities of daily living. Dependant on the province this assessment can be
completed by a PT, OT or Kin
There are other assessments as well that are completed by an external provider, ergonomic
assessment, physical demands analysis
 The Employability and Earning Capacity Assessment (EA) is to determine whether a
participant meets total and permanent incapacity (TPI) status and unable return to suitable gainful
employment..
