On Friday 25th January 2019 we celebrated Robert Burns with performance poetry by pupils from P4 to P6, supported by P7 House Captains. Confident, expressive performances, which included three very entertaining pieces written by P6A pupils themselves. Everyone joined in a rousing Red Hot Chilli Pipers rendition of Auld Lang Syne and we sang Shang-A-Lang by the Bay City Rollers. Impressive standards of singing, which is a terrific reflection on the hugely enjoyable weekly sessions led by Mr Howie.
Haris reminded everyone to complete the 'What Kind of Edinburgh?' 2050 Vision leaflets which will be collected by Haris, Jennifer and Rory next week. They were wonderful ambassadors for the school at City Chambers this week, working with young adults and champions of children's rights to create five step plans to improve Attainment and Achievement for all young people. Their huge comic strip layout for their ideas looked fantastic!
P7 pupils Anna, Cameron, Dylan, Phoebe, Danika and David were congratulated for holding their own in Health and Wellbeing discussions with politicians and lead adults at Parliament on Wednesday when they attended the launch of this year's report into the State of Children's Health, hosted by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH).
