9. ∗ AHA 2010 BLS
∗ Guidelines
∗ ABC is not longer
the CPR mnemonic
of choice!
∗ This change has
been long in
coming
∗ CAB does not apply
to all situations
∗ Healthcare
professional CPR
differs from lay
public CPR
10. ∗ What about chest compression only CPR?
∗ • AHA coined the phrase “Hands-only CPR”
∗ • Why does this work?
∗ • What data supports this?
∗ – Arizona Data
∗ – SOS Kanto
∗ • When is it appropriate to use this?
∗ – Technically, not in the hospital
∗ – Technically, not for health care professionals
Compression only CPR
11. ∗ CPP (Coronary Perfusion Pressure) is how
∗ blood is circulated through the heart
∗ • Happens during diastole
∗ • CPP builds with uninterrupted compressions
∗ • CPP drops with interruptions in compressions
Compression-Only CPR
15. ∗ Blood in the body is completely oxygenated
∗ at the time of cardiac arrest
∗ • Enough O2 for several minutes of CPR
∗ • Early in CPR ventilations add very little, they
∗ detract from compressions and CPP
∗ substantially!
Compression-Only CPR
16. ∗ Bag-Mask Ventilation (BMV) is a difficult skill
∗ • Mouth-to-mouth is even more challenging
∗ • Most breaths are ineffective
∗ • People are afraid to go “mouth to mouth”
∗ • This often deters would-be rescuers
Compression-Only CPR
20. ∗ Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is the leading cause of death in
the United States and in several other countries claiming
more than 350,000 lives each year in the U.S. alone.
Approximately 92% of those who experience sudden cardiac
arrest do not survive. It is unfortunate there are so many
fasilities related to this condition in the word each year, but
many victims can be save with the timely and proper use of
AEDs by first responders performing CPR (cardiopulmonary
resusciation) until medical rescuers (EMS) arrive on scene)
Why do we need AEDs ?
21. 1. Quick Contact
2. CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
3. Quick Defibrillation
4. Professional Emergency System
5. Integrated Treatment
How Do I Use Heartplus AED ?
22. ∗ Our technology features accurate analysis to only advise
shock when necessary.
∗ If the electrodes are not attached properly, the electric
shock process is halted.
∗ If the electric shock button isn’t pushed within 20 seconds,
battery will discharge.
∗ Inclusion of an overcharge prevention circuit for proper
electric shock loads.
∗ Dual electric shock waveform control circuit prevent
malfuction of device.
Why Heartplus ?
Safety is our top priority
23. ∗ Heartplus AED is a life-saving device that can
be used safety and quickly in the case of an
emergency
1. Anyone can use by following voice prompts
2. Easy to check the status of device
3. Introducing our all-in-one cartridge
