Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

Меня зовут Борис Огнев, я являюсь директором по развитию компании Мостком. Хочу представить доклад на тему атмосферных оптических линий связи, которые позволяют строить беспроводные системы связи и решать задачи со связью на «последней миле».
Мостком - инновационная компания, разработчик и поставщик беспроводных оптических систем связи различного назначения и применения. Основана компания в 2001г. Коллектив состоит преимущественно из инженеров, имеющих многолетний опыт научных и практических разработок. С 2011г. компания является резидентом инновационного центра Сколково - аналога американской силиконовой долины. Наша цель - создавать продукты, превосходящие ожидания пользователя. С 2006г. вся продукция поставляется под торговой маркой Artolink.
Производство оборудования, разработанного Мосткомо, осуществляется на одном из крупнейших предприятий России в аэрокосмической области – заводе ГРПЗ. Завод производит авионику ко всем российским истребителям МИГ и СУ. За счёт этого мы можем гарантировать высокое качество поставляемой продукции и практически неограниченный, в разумных пределах? объём поставки.
Вернёмся к Мосткому. На настоящий момент компания ведёт разработки оптических систем связи различного применения: атмосферные, подводные и космические
В рамках данной презентации более подробно будем рассказывать об атмосферных оптических линиях связи. На сегодняшний день это самый высокоскоростной и самый защищённый способ беспроводной передачи информации. Оборудование позволяет строить каналы связи типа «точка-точка», например, соединить два здания. Передача информации осуществляется посредством лазерного излучения. По сути системы FSO являются аналогами оптоволоконного кабеля, за тем лишь отличием, что средой распространения луча является атмосфера. Мостком предлагает решения на дистанции до 7км, скорость передачи до 10Гбит/с. Подробнее хотелось бы остановиться на преимуществах систем передачи Artolink.
Оборудование Artolink используется в качестве: Оперативные и временные каналы связи. Организация временных подключений во время проведения массовых мероприятий, концертов, на строительных площадках, в случаях ЧС и аварийных ситуаций. Оперативная связь в режиме радиомолчания для нужд ФСБ, ВС РФ.
Системы охраны и видеонаблюдения. Беспроводная оптическая связь является одним из самых эффективных решений при использовании охранных систем и систем безопасности, обеспечивая высокую скорость передачи, скрытность канала связи и его недоступность в части определения вида связи.
Муниципальные объекты. Каналы связи на базе атмосферных оптических линий передачи данных гарантируют наибольшую защиту передаваемой информации по сравнению с другими беспроводными технологиями и идеально подходят как в качестве основных, так и в качестве дополнительных резервных/дублирующих каналов для связи между больницами, полицией, администрацией, и др. объектами сети.
Мобильная связь. Установка дополнительных выносных GSM-ретрансляторов, оперативного резервного канала в случае аварии, подключение базовых станций в условиях сложной электромагнитной обстановки или исчерпанного радиочастотного спектра. Широкополосное подключение к имеющимся точкам доступа оператора для предоставления современных IP услуг. Не требуется проводить планирование частот.
Как и любое высокотехнологичное оборудование требует качественного сервиса, который в полном объёме готов предоставить наш партнёр и представитель на Ближнем Востоке, компания Advanced Tech.
Оборудование Artolink отличается от других подобных систем следующим: самые узкие пучки излучения (0,2 мрад). Повышение бюджета и степени защищенности линии связи от несанкционированного доступа и скрытность беспроводной линии связи в целом. Возможность работы на больших дистанциях. Вероятность солнечной засветки сведена к минимуму.
Самая быстрая система автоматического поддержания направления связи. Возможность установки на любые виды опор (от капитальных сооружений до вышек и мачт) за счет эффективной отработки отклонений. Простота установки и минимум обслуживания в эксплуатации. Масса клиентов сообщает нам, что при использовании FSO без автотреккинга, необходимо как минимум несколько раз в год проводить дополнительную настройку канала. Естественно об использовании таких систем на металлических вышках речи не идёт.
Аэродинамическая защита оптики. Формирует турбулентные потоки воздуха препятствующие загрязнению линз.
Максимальный диапазон по дальности связи. В зависимости от модели Artolink позволяет строить каналы связи на дистанциях вплоть до 7 км. Подобного не предлагает ни одна компания в мире.
Максимальная скорость передачи 10 Гбит/с. Модель M1-10GI - единственная на мировом рынке коммерческая FSO система, гарантирующая полнодуплексную передачу данных на скорости 10 Гбит/с. В отличие от радиооборудования 10Гбит/с - реальная пропускная способность в режими Full duplex.
Всё это оценили наши многочисленные пользователи в различных странах мира. Оборудование используют: государственные структуры, военные ведомства; Операторы мобильной и фиксированной связи; провайдере интернет услуг и корпорации. Оборудование Artolink эксплуатируется не только в России, но и в странах СНГ и дальнем зарубежье, например, Казахстан, Украина, Азербайджан, США, Индия, Сирии, Южной Кореи, Саудовской Аравии, в странах Евросоюза.
