The document summarizes the strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement of a class project to recreate the music video for a Brittany Spears song. The strengths included thorough planning, constant referencing of the original video, and class participation. Weaknesses were rotating actors which hurt continuity, and difficulties with lip syncing looking natural. The video could have been improved by rehearsing to make lip syncing and dancing more natural, and recreating a more similar setting to the original music video.
2. Strengths
• I feel the strengths of the task was that we had
planned thoroughly so when we had to follow the
Brittany video step by step it was made a lot
easier because of this. We also made sure we
always had the real Brittany video to hand to
keep referring back to. The other strengths we
have is that all the students in the class were
willing to come forward and be apart of the
music video. Also, the costume of the Brittany
always stayed the same which helped to make
the video flow and make more sense and more
realistic.
3. Weakness’
• We had watched a previous preliminary A2 task and they
had rotated the actors who played the artists so we
decided to follow a similar pattern. However, i feel this then
made our remake of the video less effective and lacked
continuity. The other difficulties we had was when trying to
get one of the Brittany's to lip-sync it was hard making it
look natural and fluid. When it came to editing we didn’t
have actual footage of a bell or clock so we had to replace it
with just an image of the bell which obviously reduced the
validity of it looking like the real Brittany video. Editing the
video was difficult because the Brittany we had was singing
was too fast for the song. Therefore we had to have try and
slow down the lip syncing.
4. Even Better If...
• I feel in order to make the lip-syncing and
dancing more natural, a rehearsal or maybe
choosing a more naturally confident person.
This would have put the fake Brittany at ease
and unfazed. I also feel that if our setting was
more like the video it would have improved
the outcome of the video.
