8. The trailer begins with different establishing shots to
introduce the film and location. It is combined with
upbeat music perfectly fitting to the shots. You begin to
hear a dialogue but are not yet aware who is taking. The
joker says ‘ what happened?’ mid speech, you then get an
instant mid-close up of Bruce Wayne, this instigates that
there is a relationship between him and the initially asked
question. The joker then follows to say ‘kill the
Batman’, you then get shots of violence and disruption in
the streets. This is done to show the disruption in the
equilibrium .
This trailer is a clear representation of Todarov’s narrative
theory. This is seen through ‘positive’ slow paced jump
cuts of the rest of the characters. This is done simply to
introduce the main characters to the audience. Then the
shots change to negative images, this is to introduce
properly the antagonist. The trailer finishes with the
equilibrium restores when Alfred asks Bruce about the
Lamborghini making it into a joke.
