- *Fear of miscarriage ( 20% risk in the 1st trimester ) or of its recurrence By the third trimester, the mother's ambivalent feelings about the baby have usually disappeared.
- Fears of miscarriage and physical discomfort is diminished In first-time mothers the kicks begin at 20 weeks, occurs earlier if it was a second (subsequent) child. Desire for coitus is increased { increased breast size from first trimester, increased vaginal lubrication and blood flow to the pelvic region, and diminished nausea } Self-conscience in regards to weight gain and sexual attractiveness
- Some people treat a pregnant woman in a obsequious way. They may offer her a chair in a crowded room or a seat on a crowded bus. However, this deferential treatment has some negative aspects as well. Some people believe a pregnant woman's ability to function professionally is diminished.
