European Predictions 2023 document provides 3 key predictions for 2023:
1. Anywhere work is here to stay, and 1/3 of European organizations will need to offer anywhere work to attract and retain talent.
2. Digital talent will return to more conventional industries as tech giants cut jobs and funding to startups declines, making traditional industries more attractive employers.
3. Germany's new Supply Chain Act will drive increased spending on supply chain monitoring solutions as it requires companies to ensure protection of human rights and the environment across their supply chains.
The past two years have necessitated big swings and quick thinking. In 2023, smart
business leaders will get focused — pruning efforts that aren’t bearing fruit and prioritising
long-term growth. The war in Europe and resulting global economic slowdown are forcing
firms in Asia Pacific to find new growth drivers and lead with purpose as uncertainty
rises. Most will struggle, however, to find a balance between investing in transformation
and growth while simultaneously embracing environmental sustainability, resilience, and
employee empowerment.
Trust will be at the forefront of business operations in 2023. Customers are increasingly
weary of organisations playing fast and loose with their personal data, and regulators aren’t
far behind. And it won’t stop there — fuelled by the ire of fed-up customers and employees,
regulators will scrutinise greenwashing, misinformation, and employee surveillance.
The interlocking market dynamics of 2023 will require business leaders to adhere to a
long-term strategic vision while operating within unknown territory. A laser focus on their
organisations’ missions and strengths — and a willingness to shed distractions that don’t
move the needle — will be the defining factor of success in 2023.

Stand on the Sidelines, or Boost Competitiveness? How to Make Bold Moves on t...Accenture Insurance
Sweeping changes across consumer behavior, technology innovations and big data are reshaping traditional insurance business models and what it takes to compete. The most successful insurers are the ones that will proactively adapt their game plan to the evolving environment and rules of competition. This piece explores three strategies to better position insurers for the future.
As our industry evolves increasingly faster, sustaining an existing (or winning an even larger) share of the $30 trillion insurance servicing opportunity requires using an integrated approach to business transformation.
ndustry leaders have never been confronted with so much business volatility, complexity and uncertainty. From the triple (external) challenges of regulation, low interest rates, and sluggish growth, to the triple (internal) challenges of “limited” infrastructure spending, legacy systems, and fragmented views of the customer; each of these can constrain asset servicing opportunities for insurers.
While security servicing providers have performed well in recent years, they face anemic core growth, shifting client expectations, rising pressure on fees, and the potential for disruption. The COVID-19 pandemic and associated recession will put further pressure on the industry. In response, they must be bold in their planning and approach to service delivery.

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
