Performance Review Day at the school is an attempt to ensure each student has a key staff member monitoring their overall progress. On March 12th, students will meet with their tutor along with their parent or carer to discuss how they are doing in subjects and agree on simple actions to help them succeed. The day will include interviews as well as activities for students and parents, with follow ups later in the year to review progress on agreed actions.

Create a planning routine and structure that works for you and your students. Use a specific planning process, to ensure that your lessons are aligned to the standards and include only what is meaningful and purposeful.
Create an organization system for keeping track of your lessons, where you’ve been, and where you’re going. Websites and apps (e.g. Pinterest, Teacher Plan) also allow you to visually see lessons and map out your lesson plans.
Pull out materials that you’ll need for the next day’s lessons before you go home for the day. Or, organize the weeks’ materials in different totes so that all you need is to pull out what you need when you’re ready.
Have proactive measures in place to diffuse difficult situations before they happen.
Designate areas in your room for specific items such as: completed student work, work for absent students, papers to be used each day, papers that need copied, items needing lamination, etc

For years, Denton Independent School District schools offered the typical parental involvement activities Dr. Karen L. Mapp of Harvard calls “random acts of parent involvement” in her article, Unlocking Families’ Potential. Our schools had good intentions, but the results didn’t always quite live up to expectations. While the events weren’t bad in and of themselves, activities were a one-time event and not necessarily sustainable. When I learned of what ReadyRosie offered, a product unlike any I’d ever seen, I knew we had uncovered a way to link parent and family engagement to student learning and development, the essential component of an effective program. Not only did ReadyRosie strengthen engagement, it helped address a number of requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act in our efforts to improve student achievement.
