Prayer is defined as raising one's mind and heart to God. It is any reflection on, response to, or conversation with God. God invites us into a relationship through prayer and it provides graces to become better people through virtues like faith, hope and charity. Prayer does not need to be long or formal, and all are worthy to speak to God. There are many occasions when prayer is appropriate, such as before challenges, meetings, health issues, and needs of students. Prayer can take many forms including blessing, petition, intercession, thanksgiving, and praise through both traditional and spontaneous means.
