A descriptive text is a text which describes a particular person, object, animal, location, or place ( Teks deskriptif adalah teks yang menggambarkan orang, objek, hewan, lokasi, atau tempat tertentu. Sehingga, descriptive text hanya fokus menjelaskan pada satu objek.)
- 11. GENERIC STRUCTURE OF DESCRIPTIVETEXT • Identification Identification berisi tentang paragraf yang mengidentifikasi tempat, hewan, seseorang, benda dan lain-lain yang akan dideskripsikan. Misalnya kita akan mendeskripsikan sebuah hewan peliharaan seekor kucing: I have a beautiful cat named Kitty. (Saya memiliki seekor kucing yang manis bernama Kitty) 2. Description Description adalah bagian teks yang membahas deskripsi dari tempat, hewan, seseorang, benda dan lainnya yang akan digambarkan secara detail, biasanya menggunakan kelima indera untuk membantu menjelaskan sesuatu. Misalnya : Kitty has smooth grey fur. She has green eyes and small ears. She has long tail. She likes to jump over here and there. She also likes playing with balls. She likes to eat whiskas and fried fish. (Kitty memiliki bulu abu-abu halus. Ia memiliki mata hijau dan telinga kecil. Ia memiliki ekor panjang. Ia suka melompat-lompat ke sana- sini. Ia juga suka bermain dengan bola. Ia suka makan whiskas dan ikan goreng.)

Menggunakan banyak kata adjective (kata sifat). Kata adjective digunakan karena dalam descriptive text kita akan menjelaskan sifat - sifat dari suatu benda, manusia, atau binatan g. 3. Kita akan sering Linking verb (kata kerja penghubung) dalam descriptive text. Linking verb adalah kata kerja yang memberikan penjelasan terhadap kata benda yang menjadi subjek dari suatu kalimat. Contohnya: is, have, seem, appear, dan kata kerja lainnya. Karena 'is' itu berarti 'adalah' yang mengarahkan pada penjelasan benda,orang atau binatang yang sedang kita jelaskan. Generic Structure (Bagaimana Teks disusun) of Descriptive Text Identification: (contains about the introduction of a person, place, animal or object will be described.) Description: contains a description of something such as animal, things, place or person by decribing its features, forms, colors, or anything related to what the writer describe. Language Feature of Descriptive Text Specific participant : has a certain object The use of the adjective (an adjective) to clarify the noun The use of simple present tense: The sentence pattern used is simple present because it tells the fact of the object described. Action verb: verbs that show an activity (for example, run, sleep, walk, cut etc….
