Roof  -  is the top covering of a building that serves as a protective covering from weather.

Types of Roof
Shed or lean to Roof -  Is considered as the simplest form of roof consisting one single slope.
2. Gable or Pitch Roof - It is the most common type of roof made of triangular sections consisting of two slopes meeting at the center of the ridge forming a gable.
3. Saw Tooth Roof - It is the development of the shed made into a series of lean to roof covering one building.
4. Double Gable Roof -  Is a modification of a gable or a hip and valley roof.
5. Hip Roof - Is also a common form used in modern houses having straight side all sloping towards the center of the building terminating at the ridge.
6. Hip and Valley Roof - Is a combination of a hip roof and an intersecting gable roof forming a T or L-shaped building.
7. Pyramid Roof  - Is a modification of the hip roof wherein the four straight side are sloping towards the center terminating at a point.
8. Gambrel Roof - Is a modification of a gable roof with each side having two slopes.
9.Ogee Roof - It is a pyramid having steep sides sloping to the center.
10. Mansard Roof -  The side steeply from each side of the building towards the center forming a flat deck on top.
11. French or Concave Mansard Roof - Is a modification of the mansard roof where the side are concave.
12.Dome - It is a hemispherical form of roof usually used in observatories.
13. Conical Roof -  It is a steep roof of circular section that tapers uniformly from the circular base to the center point.
14. Butterfly Roof - It is a two shed roof where the slope met at the center of the building.
