POWER POINT TIPS
Julia Maguire
BRAINSTORM
When you create a power point you need to know

who your telling, and what your supposed to be
telling them. Find a way to relay your message to
your audience.
SLIDE DESIGN
Each slide should rely a single idea so your audience does not get
confused.
Put slides in an order that makes sense and makes it easier to

understand.
Use photographs to show the audience examples and make the slide
more immersive.
Use an appropriate color for the slides message
ANIMATION SOUNDS AND
OTHER THINGS
COMMONLY USED IN
POWER POINT
 Only use animation when it is appropriate and make sure it adds
to the power point
 Use a sound that mirrors the mood of the slide
 Use a font that fits the mood, If it was a light hearted message you
might use “Comic Sans” if it was a serious subject you might want to

use “Times New Roman”.
WHAT DOES COLOR DO?
Color, believe it or not has an effect on the mood of a situation. A darker color could be more
mellow while a red can evoke strong emotion. When dealing with an emotional subject you
might want to use red as a slide color to have more of an effect on you audience .
 Yellow- Gets attention (more so than any other color)

 Green- Comfortable, makes audience fell at home
 Darker Blue- mellow, mature, stable
 White- Honesty, sincerity
*Many viewers do not like the color black as a background. Therefore I would not
recommend using it.
