Terms you Need to Understand
1. CPM or RPM
Terms you Need to Understand
1. CPM or RPM
Cost per Impression or Cost Per 1000
page loads
Terms you Need to Understand
● If your CPM is $1.00 that means for one ad
on your site and 1000 page loads you
would make $1
● If you have 6 of those ads on your site and
the same page loads you would make $6
How Much Can I Make?
If you have 6 ads on your site at $1 CPM
● 25,000 PV a month = $150
● 50,000 PV a month = $300
● 100,000 PV a month = $600
● 200,000 PV a month = $1200
● 300,000 PV a month = $1800
● 500,000 PV a month = $3000
My general rule
For every 100,000 pageviews you have
you should make about $1000. That would
mean you would have 6 ads on your site at
about $1.65 CPM.
Fill Rate
● The amount of impressions served divided
by the number of impressions you gave
them.
32,436
______ = 32.44 % fill rate
100,000
Default or Backfill
If that company with the 32% fill rate can't
fill all of your inventory what happens to
that other 68%?
● Default or Backfill is what happens when
you network can't serve you an ad.
Above the Fold / Below the Fold
Do Not Fear Your Ad Network

screw up they are going to “kick you out.”

working for you not the other way around.
