Elements of poster design
Poster can be fun way to present a message and do some interesting thing
with design.
Following are main elements of poster design:-
 Make it easy to read it from a distance:-
The top priority of a poster is generally to expose someone to an event. So
make it easy that the poster should be read by people from a distance.
Headline the text:-
This is the main text element in the design of poster. Through headlines
the topic of the poster is easily show.
The fine paint:-
This one explains itself that the paint of the poster should be fine or neat
and clean that the poster is read by the people easily.
 Make a mini version:-
While poster design is primarily a print project, create mini versions that can
be used in other places as well.
For example:-
• Scale down the image that can be shared on social media.
• Make a postcard or letter size to hand out.
• Create a version that can be sending via email.
• Make a posters landing page for your web site.
 Use a cool printing technique:-
Depending on the location and audience for your poster adopt a cool printing
technique.
 Have fun:-
Poster design is a place where designers can have a lot of fun with the people.
This is the area where you can break the rules and go a little crazy with design.

Creates emphasis
Give a sense of environment

Draws attention and form a certain elements
Creates a drama

Create a strong palette
Use the right color process

Use it sparingly
Use it intentionally

Each has element has a weight

Learn designs rules but feel 100% limited to them
Break rules the right way
12) Direction:-
Give viewer a path
Direct the eye in ‘z’ ‘l’ and ‘y’ shapes
13) Movements:-
Brings life to designs
Try blurring effects motion lines or waving effects
14) Depth:-
Gives dimensions to 2D designs
Try texture, shadows, 3D effect, horizon line etc.

The arrangement of elements
Have purpose with composition
Use scale and depth
Posters provide a logical and cost effective way of
communicating to a particular target market. When
placed correctly, attractive posters can lure nearby
people into a specific event and alert them of an
upcoming product or service posters have the ability
to stick in viewer’s minds and can be a great tool for
small to medium sized business to use to increase
brand awareness. Posters are cheaper than common
forms of advertising such as print, radio and
television
Advantages of posters
Low cost:-
The creative process of a poster involves a
copywriter, a graphic designer and a
printer. You can hire a poster distributer or
simply hang the posters yourself. It is
simple process that won’t cost an arm and
a leg. However, you need to be mindful of
local laws that may prevent posters from
being displayed in certain areas.
Active Response:-
People who are viewing posters are already
actively
Engaging in their surroundings. Whether they are
standing at a bus stop or lining up at the local
night club, peoples are likely to notice poster out
of sheer boredom. A clever poster will have a
call-to-action phrase that propels the viewers to
take actions as soon as possible. This could be in
the form of making a phone call, visiting a shop
or navigating to a website.
Visibility:-
You can hang multiple posters in one location to increase brand
visibility. It’s quite normal to see entire row of the some poster
lining the side of street or subway bombarding people with
imaginary will ensure the message is going to sit in their heads
long after they have viewed the poster.
Strategic location:-
The biggest advantage of using posters is that they can be put just
about anywhere and seen by almost anyone. Posters can be
strategically located to target a particular market sector. For
example, out restaurants might prefer to situate near busy bus
stops or train terminals to target hungry commuters.
Other advantages:-
A poster speaks for itself, the presence of its author is
not necessary. It is there for possible to reach a border
audience when compared to a presentation limited in
time.
It is also possible to present several posters in the
same room and time; visitors can have a look at that
poster they are inserted in.
Sometimes as the author, you have
the possibility to present a poster while giving a short
introduction.an interactive situation involves while
having a close contact to the audience closer then when
delivering a speech.
Disadvantages
of posters
Dullness
Printed media cannot capture the sound and
movement required by an audience raised on the
audio and video of television and the Internet.
Lead time
Because printed media involves production,
information requires a lead time before it ever
reaches you. Our fast-changing world might make
that knowledge obsolete by the time it appears on
the page and reaches your doorstep.
Materials
At minimum, printed materials require paper, which
is harvested from trees; and ink, which comes from
chemicals. Both require time-consuming and
expensive processes to make.
Distribution
Print can only reach its audience when it is
distributed through an infrastructure that requires
vehicles and people, which costs money.
Waste
After you read printed media, you're left with
material that you need to throw away. This waste
continually accumulates in our landfills.
