The Republic of Yemen supports UNDP's agenda to cooperate with regional bodies to implement its 2018-2021 Strategic Plan. Policymakers face challenges in implementing the plan. Regional institutions can help address these challenges and contribute to implementation. The plan aims to help countries achieve sustainable development goals by 2030 through eradicating poverty, structural transformations, and resilience to crises. The Republic of Yemen believes the committee can ensure cooperation with regional bodies and plan implementation, as many countries lack resources to attain sustainable development goals. Solutions proposed include eradicating poverty, addressing climate change, improving health, achieving gender equality, increasing data availability, and regional dialogue.

Agenda: Co-operation of UNDP with Regional Bodies to implement Strategic Plan 2018-2021
Republic of Yemen wants to thank United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for adopting
an agenda which specially concentrates on co-operation of Regional Bodies and implementation
of Strategic Plan 2018-2021. Policymakers face a variety of challenges to implement the Strategic
Plan 2018-2021. Regional institutions can play a significant role in responding to these challenges
and contributing to the implementation. UNDP’s whole vision for the strategic plan 2018-2021 is
to help the countries achieve the sustainable development which is anchored in the 2030 Agenda.
By eradicating poverty by every aspects, speeding up the structural transformations and creating
resilience to crises and shocks UNDP is trying achieve that.
Republic Of Yemen thinks this committee can really take the initiative to ensure the co-operation
of Regional Bodies and implementation of Strategic Plan 2018-2021. Since many countries do not
have enough resources and facing problems to attain Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). So
this committee can also highlight their problems and speak for them by adopting this agenda.
With the help of UN agencies Yemen is trying to ensure the approach to the Sustainable
Development Goals and targets. Eradicating poverty; Addressing climate change; Improving
adolescent and maternal health; Achieving gender equality and the empowerment of women and
girls: Ensuring greater availability and use of disaggregated data for sustainable development; can
be some solution for implementation of Strategic Plan 2018-2021.Regional Dialogue, The High-
Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, Policy interface to strengthen the data and
statistical capacities of Member States can be the approach to co-operation of Regional Bodies and
this measures can really solve the problems permanently.
