The History-Myth of Poseidon

 Poseidon was the son of Cronus and Rheas. His
  brothers were Hades, Demeter, Hestia, Hera, Zeus
  and his children were Theseus , Triton, Polyphemus,
  Belus, Agenor, Neleus and Atlas. His wife was
  Nereid Amphitrite. Before he became the God of
  Seas he was causing earthquakes on the earth. He
  was called “Earth Shaker” from many people and all
  the other Gods.
A Very important battle
   between Poseidon and Athena
 Before the capital of Greece was named “Athens” it
  had no name. That’s why God Poseidon and God
  Athena took the advantage of this occasion and
  tried to find solutions for this problem. First, they
  started giving gifts to town so the people could
  choose the winner. Poseidon gave salt water to
  town and Athena the Olive. In the end, God Athena
  won and the town took her name, Athens.
