3. CONFLUENCE
Location: Columbus OH
Partners: Mariel Fink and Christa Radosavljevic
Date: Fall 2015
This project site is in downtown Columbus at the confluence of
the Olentangy and Scioto rivers. The large and neglected site is
also dissected by many roads, railroads, and highways. There is
no existing drainage strategy.
My group sought to create a space that was both aesthetically
engaging and ecologically functional. Inspired by the forms of
river deltas as a conveyor of water, the project works to improve
the site’s stormwater function through the carving of ravines
in the landscape. These same ravines act as a visual and phys-
ical connection to the river, while providing many interesting
formal and informal active programmatic spaces for visitors to
explore.

7. MATERIAL MOSAIC
Location: Wexner Center Plaza, Ohio State Campus OH
Partners: Kara Sheetz and Kerry Gerich
Date: Spring 2015
The site of this project is the plaza outside the Wexner Center
for the Arts on the Ohio State University’s campus. The existing
plaza is not functioning properly; many of the trees have died
and the pavers are loose, cracked, or missing in many places.
Our assignment was to redesign the plaza with an emphasis on
detail design.
There are entrances to both the Wexner Center and Sullivant
Hall adjacent to the plaza, all at different spot grades. Our fi-
nal design is a series of interlocking terraces that bring people
through the different levels of the site. Various programmatic
elements and vegetation types fill the mosaic pieces.
Full construction document set available upon request.

9. GREEN NETWORK
Location: Brooklyn Navy Yard, New York City NY
Partners: April Liu, Katie Pettee, and Nevin Lesnoski
Date: Fall 2014
This project site was located within the Brooklyn Navy Yard, a
historically industrial and restricted area. My group’s assignment
was to create an event space. As a small scale intervention, I
created both market stall and planter modules which can be
moved with shipping container technology to create many dif-
ferent layouts in an area. This allows flexibility so the space can
function as an industrial workplace during the week and as a
market square, a street festival, or a park during event times. A
more permanently programmed square features a pavilion with
a green roof that functions as a park.

RENDERING: CRICKET VIEW
HABITATION
Client: Peabody Essex Museum
Location: Salem MA
Partner: Christa Radosavljevic
Date: Spring 2014
In the Peabody Essex Museum, there was a temporary ex-
hibit by Ohio State art professor Amy Young. It consisted of
a miniature museum inhabited by crickets. Museum visitors
could view the crickets through a large window or through
a camera which broadcasts to a screen within the museum.
Our assignment was to create a cricket-scale installation that
the insects could interact with. After many material studies,
we chose tulle and sandpaper because of the cricket’s ease
of movement on these materials. The hexagon motif repeat-
ed in the design was derived from the shape of the cricket’s
compound eye and was utilized to create interesting struc-
tures for the insects.

14. TACTICAL URBANISM
Location: Weisheimer Road, Clintonville OH
Partners: Class collaboration
Date: Spring 2014
This purpose of this class was to explore best management
practices for complete streets including green infrastructure,
pedestrian friendly street design, bicycle accommodation, and
traffic calming, and then apply them to several streets in Clin-
tonville, OH. Our study included a high traffic road (Indianola
Avenue) as well as residential roads. The course culminated in
a tactical urbanism event where we constructed a temporary
demonstration of the solutions we planned and received feed-
back from the community. In this section I focus on Weisheimer
road, an underdeveloped residential street in a school zone.
One of our street schemes was recently adopted.

study abroad trip to Europe. Ink on paper.
Fabrications
Completed during a fabrications course. The chair was built
using a CNC router and assembled on hidden dowels. The
mini-planters were built digitally in Rhino and fabricated on a
3D printer.
Cards and invitations
Completed with a combination of watercolor and ink on paper.
