4. COMMERCIAL INTERIOR 1
This project involved the design of a modern office space for an
accounting firm in Yekaterinburg, Russia. The client’s brief specified
the need for a welcoming client waiting area, secure server room,
kitchen and dining space, open shared office for employees, a pri-
vate director’s office, and a central co-working area for freelancers.
To achieve an aesthetic appeal with unique and visually strik-
ing elements, I incorporated curvilinear glass dividers and panels
throughout the space. The curved transparent surfaces enhance
flow between zones, allow abundant natural light penetra-
tion, and add an organic feel to the otherwise rigid geometry.
The centerpiece of the lobby is a parametric column fixture that cre-
ates a sense of movement. By implementing the client’s functional re-
quirements within an innovative and visually engaging envelope, the
final design provides this accounting firm with a modern, distinctive,
and ergonomic workplace suited to their brand and organizational
needs. The client was pleased with the creative geometries bal-
anced with purposeful spaces tailored specifically for their business.

modern and minimalist design that would make the
most of the natural light and space available.

17. Project Title: Addition to Historical Train stations
in the UK. ( Lincoln Central Station, UK)
Client: Academic Project
Location: United Kingdom
This master’s design project investigated strategies for
sensitively adding contemporary elements to Histor-
ical train stations using the the 174-year-old Lincoln
Central train station as a project site. The rationale
was to adapt this heritage structure to meet modern
needs while respecting its Gothic Revival architecture
and historical significance. The process involved site
analysis, case studies of successful station additions
worldwide, developing a conceptual framework using
architectural theories, and technical development.
Key findings included the importance of improving
neighborhood integration, accessibility, facilities, sus-
tainability, and commercial viability. The proposed
scheme adds a new steel-structured floor for retail
and events, transforming the interior into a grand
double-height arrival space. The vertical addition uses
pile foundations and prefabricated construction to
limit disruption. While contemporary in style, it draws
on the heritage of grand station architecture. Sustain-
able features like solar panels were incorporated. Site
Exterior Architecture 1
alterations like opening a rear entrance improve access.
The project makes several theoretical contributions, in-
cluding establishing a rationale for additions and pro-
viding a conceptual framework analyzing interventions
versus the “new.” It also examines design strategies from
precedents. Practical contributions include technical
recommendations, functional spaces to enhance utility,
inclusive design features, and sustainability strategies.
Limitations stemmed from regulatory restrictions on his-
torical structures, time constraints, and lack of public
engagement.
Overall, this project demonstrates that with careful
planning, historic stations can be adapted for modern
users while celebrating their architectural legacy. The
design balances innovation and preservation through
its sensitive scheme, spatial enhancements, and social
inclusivity. It provides a model for sustaining built heri-
tage by addressing contemporary needs.
