Architecture Portfolio: individuals, green and buildingsMatteoTerazzi
I think that every architectural project has to relate with three main issues:
- individuals, who live, use, interact, like, blame and pay for the project.
- green, which is around us and should be used with a mutual benefit.
- buildings, which can define or deny spaces, create boundaries or open new paths.
This issues are solved in my projects through design, materials, technology, energy strategies and use of natural elements

UNBUILD THE WALL
In History relations between neighbouring coun-
tries have always been extremely complicated.
Economic and political reasons have pushed a
countless amount of people all over the world to
leave their own countries to try their luck some-
where else. Walls have been built and have un-
avoidably been torn down.
No wall, no fence, no barrier can stop starved peo-
ple to find a place to live. A big linear garden will
take the place of the current wall. It will be divided
in parts each of which will be given to the Mexican
inhabitants. The migratory buildings will be elimi-
nated and a circular square will be built. The steel
beams of the current wall will be reused to cre-
ate a colonnade on the perimeter of the square in
memory of the old border fence. Its fragments will
create different spaces under the shade for different
uses. As the ancient Italian piazzas, the plaza will
become a big market square where the in
habitants could sell their products and a new micro
economy will start.
The empty space of the square will be at the service
of two very different cultures sharing one city.

Swing/kitchen tries to find the answer to this ques-
tion converting the idea of the conventional kiosk
into a “boite a miracles”.
Swing/kitchen its a kiosk, a carousel, a gym and if
needed a cinema.
Just a 1x2 sqare meters trapezoidal element repet-
ed up to ten times creates ten modules apparently
identical. Five of them contains the kitchen with all
its components, the remaining five fulfill different
uses as needed, change the rules of the game.
Once opened four swing appear while the last
module serves as warehouse.
Swing/kitchen can be used on both sides and it
becomes a cinema if needed.
Playing its the secret ingredient which brings us to
a lost state of joy.
It emphasizes our feelings: food and playing carry
us into a dreaming space full of energy.
