Ferdinand Porsche was an Austrian-German automotive engineer who founded the Porsche car company. He designed several iconic vehicles including the original Volkswagen Beetle and the Porsche 356, the first Porsche model. He made important contributions to German tank design during World War II before being imprisoned in France. After the war, he continued automotive design work with his son Ferry Porsche, helping to establish Porsche as a legendary sports car brand.
