A collection of poems inspired by the SUNDAY
investigation into some pig farming practices in
                  New Zealand
Living in here day by day.
I don’t get to have my say.
Depressed and lonely, fat and big
That’s my life for me a pig.

In this farm I am very sad
All the pigs in here are mad.
My dad got turned into bacon
To help with all the money makin’

Wonder what it’s like outa here
Will there be anyone who’ll care.
Condemned to a horrible fate
Living my life in this grotty crate.

Please someone, come rescue me
So for once I will be free
I don’t want to live like this
I want to play around in bliss

By Amber Sowerby
It is terrible being a pig
That is round fat and big
Condemned to this horrible fate
Living my life in this crate

This is where I get farmed
Man in here do I get harmed
For all the day I am sore
Eating the crap on the floor

To them I’m nothing but bacon
For all the money they’re makin
Living in this horrible smell
And that’s why I’m not that well

By Abbey Wilton
It’s terrible being a pig
That’s round fat and big
Condemned to a horrible fate
Living my life in this crate

I don’t feel very well
In this terrible sickening smell
I feel like a piece of bacon
From all the money their makin

I feel a lot of distress
Wondering how I got into this
mess
The life here is over for me
Why won’t anyone set me free?

By Crystal Chung
Its terrible being a pig.
That is round fat and big.
Condemned to a horrible fate.
Living my life in this crate.

I fell like a piece of bacon .
From all the money there making.
I don’t fell very well.
From this terrible smell.

It’s muddy cold and damp.
From the harsh shine of a lamp.
It’s so horrible being farmed.
And they don’t care I’m getting harmed.

By Roxanne Scheepers
It is tragic being a pig.
  Being round, plump and big.
 The sickening cries echoing by,
Will they get out, yeah pigs might
                  fly!
Condemned to a sorrowful fate,
  In this dirty diminutive crate.
Look at all this money they’re
                makin
Because of all our slithers of
                bacon

Please help us ,to set us free
Or we will have to pay the fee.
Look at all the sorrow we pay,
Set us free and make our day.

         By Shyane Ram
It is terrible being a pig
That is round, fat and big
Condemned to a horrible fate
Living my life in this crate

All I want is to race around
And dig down deep until I’ve found
A place to wallow in the mud
And taste all those scrumptious bugs

I want to have a brand new home
A place to feel free to roam
And find a brand new friend to play
All those piggy games all day

By Caralena Borisov
It is terrible being a pig
That is round fat and big
Condemned to a horrible fate
Living my life in this crate

My mind is going out I am distress
Everywhere in this small crate is mess
It is really scary being in there.
That peoples that not even care.

My dad got chop into bacon
Look at all the money they making
There are bugs flying in my ear
We not even get fed a pear.

By Corrina McRae
It’s terrible being a pig,
That’s round, fat and big,
Condemned to a horrible fate,
Living my life in this crate.

I hate the people that are makin’,
The stuff that comes out of me called bacon,
All day long I’m in so much distress,
How much longer can I live in this mess.

I have so much fear,
I need to get some beer,
I want to get out,
So I can roam about.

By Jordan Sinclair
It is a terrible being a pig
 that’s round fat and big.
 Condemned to a horrible fate
Living my life in this crate.

I cannot move I’m very sad
the man that keeps me all big and bad.
I haven’t had a wash in years
This horrible feeling gives me tears.

All I can hear is screaming
I wish I could start dreaming.
This place is not right
Me staying in here day and night.

By Sad’e Herewini
It is terrible being a pig,
that is round fat and big
Condemned to a horrible fate
Living my life in this crate.

Staring up at me, eye to eye
Among the cockroaches all which fly
Never to see the light of day
Never will piglets run or play.

Sickness encrusted, stale air
Living this way really isn’t fair
Cruelty to pigs just isn’t right
Stuck in the crates day and night.

The farmers really make some cash
By treating the pigs really rash
There are more out there, we might not know ‘em
Think of them as you read my poem.

It is terrible being a pig
that is round, fat and big
  Condemned to a horrible fate
living my life in this crate

          all I feel is sad
and it is driving me mad
        always in distress
Living in this life of mess

     always being in this place
I’ve got no room, I’ve got no space
        Turnin’ us into bacon
For all the money they’ll be makin’

all my life I’ve been farmed
      always being harmed
    always feeling very sore
Hoping soon I won’t be anymore

        By Sam Masterson
It is terrible being a pig
That is round fat and big
Commended to a horrible fate
Living my life in this crate.

My back aches, it is so sore
All I want is to be shown the door
I would run round the bend
To see all my friends.

I hate when I get hurt
they just treat me like dirt
It’s so very loud
Our country shouldn't be proud

I'm O so sad
It’s not my fault I'm mad.
It’s so sad when I'm makin
The fact I'm gunna be bacon !

By Cameron Mcinnes
It is horrible being a pig It is really sad Of this horror I can’t refute
Because I’m round fat and big Its not my fault I’m mad Oh how I wish I could mute
Condemned to a horrific fate All day long I chew on bars The roaring sound of pigs screaming
Living my life in this tiny crate I'd rather live on planet mars How I hope I am only dreaming

                                                                     By Bailey Jackson
I’m a pig that's being farmed
They think we’re not harmed
Condemned to a horrible fate
Living a life in a crate

I’m a round rolling pig
 With a stomach fed big
But I have a dream to be free
The sun and the sky I would see

They fatten us for bacon
In a crate for money Makin’’
The screaming it’s so very loud
Our country shouldn’t be proud

By Emily Horgan
It is terrible being a pig.
that is round, fat and big.
condemned to a horrible fate.
living my life in this crate.

The pig are a fat, pink bore.
Pig like to role around in mad but too sore.
Pigs are in here there are really sad.
The owner is furious and mad.

it is dark in this horrible place.
the pig has a very muddy face.
I’m going to be turned into a roast.
some people like to eat me the most.
