Ensuring Design Standards with Web ComponentsJohn Riviello
Creating a unified user experience across multiple applications at a large company is a daunting task. Most projects work in silos with different designers and developers re-creating UX patterns for each project. Standards guides are developed for best practices, but are hard to share and keep updated across projects. Enter Web Components: little snippets of web code that follow standards, promote accessibility, and can be easily shared. Rather than building standards docs, start building web components that all your teams can leverage. Stop setting standards and start building them!

Sometimes when you are starting on an idea for a project you dont know where or how to start. This is a tried and tested strategy that gets you going. From inspiration to organization, tools to knowledge, all you need to know to build the next great app.
Because every organization produces and propagates data as part of their day-to-day operations, data trends are becoming more and more important in the mainstream business world’s consciousness. For many organizations in various industries, though, comprehension of this development begins and ends with buzzwords: “big data,” “NoSQL,” “data scientist,” and so on. Few realize that any and all solutions to their business problems, regardless of platform or relevant technology, rely to a critical extent on the data model supporting them. As such, Data Modeling is not an optional task for an organization’s data effort, but rather a vital activity that facilitates the solutions driving your business. Since quality engineering/architecture work products do not happen accidentally, the more your organization depends on automation, the more important the data models driving the engineering and architecture activities of your organization become. This webinar illustrates Data Modeling as a key activity upon which so much technology depends.
Polymer-Powered Design Systems - DevFest FloridaJohn Riviello
One of the most powerful features of Web Components is using Shadow DOM & CSS Custom properties to achieve actual code sharing among your style guides & pattern libraries with your website and web application code. No more developing design systems in isolation and struggling to have design updates applied to the actual development code. The code you write in your Web Components is both the living pattern library and the code your components use! In this talk you'll learn the specifics of working with Polymer, the most popular Web Components library, to build your design system in a way that can be used across any web-enabled device. We'll cover best practices for working with CSS in Polymer to ensure design and accessibility needs are met. We'll also demonstrate the best ways to deal with the limitations of the Shadow DOM & CSS Custom Property shims to support older browsers.

Pioneer a Strategic Change in Content Organization with PloneClayton Parker
Waking up to the reality of SEO and social media, large corporate organizations are now looking to better control content on their long list of child sites, as well as prevent strategic information from evading to third-party sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
One forward-thinking school – College of Engineering at University of Notre Dame – has set the ball rolling by implementing a large hub and spoke infrastructure to manage the content of a dozen departments and a dozen research centers. The new structure was unveiled in January 2012 and is powered by Plone.
In this talk, we will unveil how the Plone add-on Lineage can be used to create a powerful structure of parent and child sites. First, we will explain how Lineage works out of the box with no customizations. The default behavior is simple and allows for the new microsites to be created instantly, but they will look the same as their parent.
After reviewing the stock behavior, we will explore how to extend Lineage. There are several Lineage add-ons that allow child sites to have their own theme or even their own properties. We will present what these add-ons provide on top of the out-of-the box experience. We will also reveal how to use the child site creation hooks to populate the new child sites with content, set up properties and prepare the child site for use by the end users.
A beginner's guide to setting up your development environment to build a very basic "Hello World" web part using the SharePoint Framework and resources on how to keep learning more about it.
Applications have to be integrated – no matter which programming languages, databases or infrastructures are used. However, the realization of integration scenarios is a complex and time-consuming task. Over 10 years ago, Enteprise Integration Patterns (EIP) became the world wide defacto standard for splitting huge, complex integration scenarios into smaller recurring problems. These patterns appear in almost every integration project.
This session revisits EIPs and gives shows status quo. After giving a short introduction with several examples, the audience will learn which EIPs still have a „right to exist“, and which new EIPs emerged in the meantime. The end of the session shows different frameworks and tools which already implement EIPs and therefore help the architect to reduce efforts a lot.

Web Components: The Future of Web Development is HereJohn Riviello
From Drupaldelphia 2018
If you haven’t explored Web Components yet, you’re missing out on a powerful tool that can greatly enhance reusability of common web elements throughout your websites and web applications. As Comcast has been updating our web properties to unify under a single UX, using Web Components with Polymer has helped make that process much more efficient.
This session will introduce you to what exactly Web Components are and how to use them. We’ll also cover building Web Components with Polymer, the most popular Web Component library. You’ll get to hear how Comcast is using the web platform to build its next generation single page apps & websites using the latest browser APIs.
You’ll also learn about how easy it is to onboard a team to using Polymer, tips for sharing components with other websites & across teams, and best practices Comcast has established for efficient development of Web Components.
When building apps for your enterprise, you're not only asking for the user's time, you're also asking them to change their behavior and how they work. That means your app needs to be exponentially better than what they're doing today. With Force.com, you can demonstrate exactly how much better very quickly without coding, or without coding much at all. Join us as we apply lean development principles (for running quick iterative experiments) with the Force.com platform to build minimum viable experiments, and test them on your users.

Social Drink-up!
Social Drink-Up ! #8 - BlaBlaCar, from desktop to mobile first - Laure WagnerFastory
Social Drink-Up !
Social Drink-Up !

Social Drink-Up!

Social Drink-Up! #4 - R.O.I du marketing mobileFastory
# Internet Security: Safeguarding Your Digital World
In the contemporary digital age, the internet is a cornerstone of our daily lives. It connects us to vast amounts of information, provides platforms for communication, enables commerce, and offers endless entertainment. However, with these conveniences come significant security challenges. Internet security is essential to protect our digital identities, sensitive data, and overall online experience. This comprehensive guide explores the multifaceted world of internet security, providing insights into its importance, common threats, and effective strategies to safeguard your digital world.
## Understanding Internet Security
Internet security encompasses the measures and protocols used to protect information, devices, and networks from unauthorized access, attacks, and damage. It involves a wide range of practices designed to safeguard data confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Effective internet security is crucial for individuals, businesses, and governments alike, as cyber threats continue to evolve in complexity and scale.
### Key Components of Internet Security
1. **Confidentiality**: Ensuring that information is accessible only to those authorized to access it.
2. **Integrity**: Protecting information from being altered or tampered with by unauthorized parties.
3. **Availability**: Ensuring that authorized users have reliable access to information and resources when needed.
## Common Internet Security Threats
Cyber threats are numerous and constantly evolving. Understanding these threats is the first step in protecting against them. Some of the most common internet security threats include:
### Malware
Malware, or malicious software, is designed to harm, exploit, or otherwise compromise a device, network, or service. Common types of malware include:
- **Viruses**: Programs that attach themselves to legitimate software and replicate, spreading to other programs and files.
- **Worms**: Standalone malware that replicates itself to spread to other computers.
- **Trojan Horses**: Malicious software disguised as legitimate software.
- **Ransomware**: Malware that encrypts a user's files and demands a ransom for the decryption key.
- **Spyware**: Software that secretly monitors and collects user information.
### Phishing
Phishing is a social engineering attack that aims to steal sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details. Attackers often masquerade as trusted entities in email or other communication channels, tricking victims into providing their information.
### Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) Attacks
MitM attacks occur when an attacker intercepts and potentially alters communication between two parties without their knowledge. This can lead to the unauthorized acquisition of sensitive information.
### Denial-of-Service (DoS) and Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) Attacks
