ACM MobileHCI 2013 - Playing it Real Again: A Repeated Evaluation of Magic Le...Jens Grubert
Jens Grubert delivered the presentation on August 28th, 2013 during the 15th edition of MobileHCI, International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction with Mobile Devices and Services in Munich, Germany.
ABSTRACT:
We repeated a study on the usage of a magic lens and a static peephole interface for playing a find-and-select game in a public space. While we reproduced the study setup and procedure the task was conducted in a public transportation stop with different characteristics. The results on usage duration and user preference were significantly different from those reported for previous conditions. We investigate possible causes, specifically the differences in the spatial characteristics and the social contexts in which the study took place.
This document provides an overview of skill progression in gymnastics from foundational to advanced levels. It outlines six levels - foundational, fundamental, basic, challenging, advanced, and complex - with increasing motor skill demands and involvement in partner and group activities, both competitive and non-competitive. The most advanced levels involve sequencing complex skills, controlling risk, developing physical fitness, linking skills from other sports, and self/peer analysis for improved performance.
Digital marketing initiatives for insurers face several options that could have big impacts. Access to more sophisticated push notification channels or brand partnerships with digitally connected companies could expand customer reach. However, integrated digital analytics and personalized push communications may allow for more agile micro-targeting of customers with tailored offers.
The document discusses representing information across different channels and devices. It emphasizes the importance of creating structured and organized information that can be presented consistently regardless of the device or platform. It promotes designing information architecture with a "mobile first" and "structure first" approach so content can be delivered seamlessly to any device in a usable form.

The document contains an English reading comprehension exam for a first term student. It includes a reading passage about a girl named Judith Moore who is English and lives in Manchester. There are activities to complete about the passage including filling out a table with details about Judith and answering true/false questions. Additional activities focus on grammar, punctuation, and writing a response providing personal details.

Pune is known to have existed as a town since 937 AD. It has the highest number of software companies in India, earning it the nickname "Silicon Valley of Maharashtra." Pune has a cosmopolitan culture with only 38% of residents being local Marathi people, and the rest coming from various states across India and countries around the world. Pune is a historic city with many cultural monuments and places of interest to visit.
The document discusses whether pursuing an ideal such as an ideal city is worthwhile. It asks if the ideal city is achievable, if we should try to achieve it, and who is responsible for setting the agenda to achieve it. Finally, it asks what is reasonable to ask of people to try and achieve the ideal.
Victoria's Premier Ted Baillieu introduced rules allowing residents within 2kms of wind farms to contest their construction. These rules did not apply to coal fire power generators. A chart shows Victoria's renewable energy generation increasing between 2005, 2009 and 2010.
The Digital Advisor - Using technology to improve an advisory sales process f...The Digital Insurer
This presentation was presented by Hugh Terry of The Digital Insurer. It covers how to "digitally enable" a life insurance sales force (agents or bancassurance) to take advantage of new technologies
The exhibition has the official support of the profile
international organizations, ministries and departments in
RF, Administration of the major wine region in Russia –
the Krasnodar region, professional associations and
unions and major scientific institutions as well. The
highest level of the support allows the Fair to have strong
effect on the industry development.
PDHPE is designed to be inclusive of all students regardless of their abilities and provides opportunities to learn about and experience things outside of their normal lives through fun physical activities. It allows students to work together in teams to achieve goals while engaging their bodies freely through movement, which can serve as an outlet to release energy.
This document provides an introduction to the BEM (Block, Element, Modifier) methodology for organizing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code in a consistent semantic structure. It explains that BEM aims to address the lack of a unified semantic model across frontend technologies by introducing a common naming convention based on blocks, elements, and modifiers. It then details BEM's core concepts and provides examples and best practices for implementing BEM in HTML/CSS and JavaScript.
1) Integrating different health IT systems in India was challenging due to a lack of political support for certain aspects and systems not being equally supported.
2) Prior to integration, different systems did not work together, forcing staff to re-enter data into multiple systems to access needed information and data.
3) The article discusses how e-infrastructure can provide shared access to data and computing resources for research, and how patient and geographic data can be more easily analyzed and reported regularly through integration. However, the article is biased as it was written by those implementing the DHIS system.
Project-Based Learning (PBL) is an instructional strategy that focuses on engaging students in relevant content to solve real problems. It benefits students by developing their 21st century skills as teachers take a coaching role and students drive their own instruction. A common PBL format introduces the project, provides a rubric, has students generate a know/need to know document, includes project work and lectures/labs/homework, and culminates in a student-created product and presentation. Important aspects are the know/need to know document that evolves throughout, and ensuring there is always a presentation component. Resources for PBL include the Buck Institute for Education and New Tech Network websites.
The document summarizes a trip the author took to explore Ayers Rock and New South Wales, Australia. They navigated the desert to reach Ayers Rock, where they met Steve Irwin and climbed the rock, taking in the beautiful views. Their journey then continued to the more urban area of New South Wales. In Sydney, they unsuccessfully searched for Wallaby Way and attended an opera, finding the building beautiful but the music less enjoyable. Overall, the author had an incredible trip encountering unique wildlife and people in Australia.

O zagadnieniu:
Cel i korzyści spotkania:
Podczas spotkania słuchacze poznają aktualnie wykorzystywane technologie oraz kluczowe umiejętności w produkcji aplikacji internetowych, jak również metody programowania ekstremalnego i techniki zwinnego wytwarzania oprogramowania. Osobom, które dopiero zaczynają swoją przygodę z web development, zostanie przedstawiona propozycja działań, których sumienne podjęcie się gwarantuje odniesienie sukcesu zawodowego.
