Methodology   Population  Second-year English students at the University of Los Andes A questionnaire on students’ perceptions  about the use of Podcasts  Procedure  Class divided into groups  Groups created a Podcast: designed, rehearsed and published their podcasts
FINDINGS
Accessibility   Internet access (96% did not have Internet at home)  Access to Computers (60% did not have a PC) Time on the Internet: 5 hours  (per week)
65% I faced tech issues when recording the podcasts.  68% I had to practice many times before recording. 85% I put my best effort in each recording.  82% I was excited whenever I had to record. 71% I enjoyed recording. Percentage of students who agreed with the statement Item
80% The podcast project helped me learn out of class.  80% The podcast project helped me develop my listening skills. 84% The podcast project helped me develop my speaking skills. 89% The team contributed the same amount of work.  Percentage of students who agreed with the statement Item
Conclusions Podcasting: increases motivation  fosters cooperative learning  helps develop listening and speaking skills promotes autonomy and life-long learning
