Agile PLM's MetaFileRemover ToolIs the file manager space growing significantly in your Agile PLM deployment? Are you using AutoVue? If so, this blog may be just what you’ve been looking for!
Sometimes the AutoNumber facility in Agile PLM does not offer the level of sophistication needed to produce a truly intelligent part number. Fortunately, Agile provides an extension point to create custom AutoNumber sources. This blog will outline the steps needed to create the code for the custom source and get it installed in Agile so it is ready to use.
Monitor Agile PLM Performance
Is your Agile PLM environment starting to slow down or are you looking to monitor its performance? There are a number of tools out there to help with this, including the Java Console that comes with the Java Development Kit (JDK). This blog will provide basic instructions on how to enable the Agile PLM server deployment for remote monitoring.
Help! Agile PLM won’t start after a database import! PLM Mechanic .
Unlock your Agile PLM system
Ever import a dump file and have your Agile PLM system refuse to start? Even if it imports and starts up, have you ever been unable to log in? Do not get discouraged, the fix is an easy one!
Need to move content between your Agile PLM environments? If only configuration needs to be moved, then Agile Configuration Propogation (ACP) tool should be the tool of choice. For configuration and data, Agile PLM provides scripts to import and export dump files through a regular imp/exp commands and the data pump. This blog will provide information on using the agile9imp command to import the Agile PLM database so that it can be imported into another environment or archived as a backup.
Have you recently gone through an upgrade or noticed that Agile PLM is reporting incorrect file sizes on attachments? Personally I have only noticed this on upgrades but I imaging there are other scenarios that can cause the situation. Regardless, don't fret, its an easy fix.
This presentation will provide information on using the export command to export the Agile PLM database so that it can be imported into another environment or archived as a backup.

Running SQL from a Groovy Event Handler in Agile PLMPLM Mechanic .
Have you ever run into a situation where you needed to run SQL from an event handler or PX but wasn't quite sure how to do it? This presentation will show you how to get a connection to the Agile PLM database and execute SQL without worrying about the connection details.
If your company is in the midst of a data migration to Agile PLM and has been around for a while, chances are you have quite a few attachments to migrate over. While the mechanics of file load are not difficult, it can be a time consuming process. This blog aims to speed up your import by walking through the use of a custom file vault
For those that have done any kind of web services development, soapUI is a great tool to have in the arsenal. After adding a WSDL to a project, soapUI will stub out requests, which I often use as a testing facility to validate the request/response messages that I am to code against. The hurdle to using soapUI with Agile is the authentication mechanism they chose to employ. Some systems such as BI will have a separate service to authenticate, then a sessionID can be passed around for subsequent calls, but Agile is not architected this way. Instead they chose to use the WWW-Authenticate header passed in the request. This blog will show you how to set up soapUI so it authenticates and allows you to test your Agile PLM service calls.
This presentation was shared by The talk is dedicated for developers who is already experienced ASP.NET MVC framework, but always being interested - "What's inside?". We are going to have a journey talking about major workflows and aspects of framework operations: from IIS request into View rendering. That would be much helpful for better undertanding of framework, make your work more productive and fun
The Run and Wait scope provided by MUnit allows you to instruct MUnit to wait until all asynchronous executions have completed. Hence, test execution does not start until all threads opened by production code have finished processing.

Funambol Automated Tests for SyncML ClientsFunambol
The presentation shows how an automated test for native SyncML clients works and how to develop it. You'll learn how to get the logs from the devices, assembly the test, run it and check that Funambol server and synclets do not break between a release and another, or after committing a piece of code. Watch this presentation if you want to improve the automated tests for SyncML devices

Over the last few years, organizations have worked towards the separation of storage and compute for a number of benefits in the areas of cost, data duplication and data latency. Cloud resolves most of these issues but comes to the expense of needing a way to query data on remote storages. Alluxio and Presto are a powerful combination to address the compute problem, which is part of the strategy used by Simbiose Ventures to create a product called StorageQuery - A platform to query files in cloud storages with SQL.
This talk will focus on:
- How Alluxio fits StorageQuery's tech stack;
- Advantages of using Alluxio as a cache layer and its unified filesystem;
- Development of new under file system for Backblaze B2 and fine-grained code documentation;
- ShannonDB remote storage mode.

Creating automation scripts using a generic framework is useful. The framework should have recovery scenarios and it should also perform a quick check after test execution using customized logs. The test execution summary must provide accurate information on test case execution. This article on IBM® Rational® Functional Tester elaborates this process.

3. Introduction
Agile PLM's MetaFileRemover ToolIs the file manager
space growing significantly in your Agile PLM
deployment? Are you using AutoVue? If so, this blog may
be just what you’ve been looking for!
In addition to storing attachments, the Agile PLM file
manager also stores AutoVue cache files, also called
metafiles or streaming files. Over time, these cache files
can build up and occupy a significant amount of disk
space. The good news is that these can be removed
without affecting the system allowing you to recover that
lost disk space.
4. How It’s Done
My test Agile PLM system is 9.3.1.2 and is on a windows platform, thus the
instructions will show windows paths.
1.Unzip E:AgileAgile931agileDomaintoolsMetaFilesRemover.zip
2.Navigate to E:AgileAgile931agileDomaintoolsMetaFilesRemover from a
command window
3.If you are going to run this in the future, I would suggest making a batch file
(remove.bat) that is similar to the one on the following slide
4.Execute the script: remove.bat
5. Remove.bat
@echo off
setlocal
set PATH=E:jdk1.6.0_32bin;%PATH%
set JAVA_HOME=E:jdk1.6.0_32
set usr=ifsuser
set pwd=agile
set basedir=E:AgileVault
set url=http://dev-
agile9312a:7001/Agile/services/DmsService
java -jar MetaFilesRemover.jar -delete -basedir %basedir%
-prefix agile -serverURL %url% -username %usr% -password %pwd%
endlocal
