WORKING PRINCIPLE OF DC GENERATOR
A generator is a device that convert Mechanical energy into electrical energy using electromagnetic induction.
A DC generator produces direct power based on fundamental principle of Faraday's laws of electromagnetic induction.
According to this laws, Whenever a conductor is moved within a magnetic field in such a way that the conductor cuts across magnetic lines of flux, voltage is generated in the conductor.
FLEMING’S RIGHT HAND RULE (GENERATOR RULE)
It use to determine the direction of the induced emf/current of a conductor moving in a magnetic field.
The POLARITY of the voltage depends on the direction of the magnetic lines of flux and the direction of movement of the conductor.
Fleming right hand rule (FRR) used to determine nature of emf or direction of current because rest two direction of motion of conductor in generator (Input Mechanical energy in generator) and direction of magnetic field (due to stator Field) are known.

Acoustic Emission (AE) refers to the generation of transient elastic waves produced by a sudden redistribution of stress in a material. When a structure is subjected to an external stimulus (change in pressure, load, or temperature), localized sources trigger the release of energy, in the form of stress waves, which propagate to the surface and are recorded by sensors. With the right equipment and setup, motions on the order of picometers (10 -12 m) can be identified. Sources of AE vary from natural events like earthquakes and rockbursts to the initiation and growth of cracks, slip and dislocation movements, melting, twinning, and phase transformations in metals. In composites, matrix cracking and fiber breakage and debonding contribute to acoustic emissions. AE’s have also been measured and recorded in polymers, wood, and concrete, among other materials.

This document discusses reflections of vectors and of geometrical products of two vectors, in two-dimensional Geometric Algebra (GA). It then uses reflections to solve a simple tangency problem.
Additional Solutions of the Limiting Case "CLP" of the Problem of Apollonius ...James Smith
This document adds to the collection of solved problems presented in References [1]-[6]. The solutions presented herein are not as efficient as those in [6], but they give additional insight into ways in which GA can be used to solve this problem. After reviewing, briefly, how reflections and rotations can be expressed and manipulated via GA, it solves the CLP limiting case of the Problem of Apollonius in three ways, some of which identify the the solution circles' points of tangency with the given circle, and others of which identify the solution circles' points of tangency with the given line. For comparison, the solutions that were developed in [1] are presented in an Appendix.
Why Does the Atmosphere Rotate? Trajectory of a desorbed moleculeJames Smith
As a step toward understanding why the Earth's atmosphere "rotates" with the Earth, we use using Geometric (Clifford) Algebra to investigate the trajectory of a single molecule that desorbs vertically upward from the Equator, then falls back to Earth without colliding with any other molecules. Sample calculations are presented for a molecule whose vertical velocity is equal to the surface velocity of the Earth at the Equator (463 m/s) and for one with a vertical velocity three times as high. The latter velocity is sufficient for the molecule to reach the Kármán Line (100,000 m). We find that both molecules fall to Earth behind the point from which they desorbed: by 0.25 degrees of latitude for the higher vertical velocity, but by only 0.001 degrees for the lower.
Solution Strategies for Equations that Arise in Geometric (Clifford) AlgebraJames Smith
Drawing mainly upon exercises from Hestenes's New Foundations for Classical Mechanics, this document presents, explains, and discusses common solution strategies. Included are a list of formulas and a guide to nomenclature.

5 Tips On How To Grow Your Salon BusinessSalon Genie
Opening up a new salon? Here are a few tips that will help you jump-start the growth of your salon along with increased revenues and help you find new clients!
Calculation of the Curvature Expected in Photographs of a Sphere's HorizonJames Smith
A formula is derived for the curvature of the horizon's image in photos of a sphere of radius R , taken by a camera with horizontal view angle alpha from height h above the sphere's surface. The formula is validated by means of an interactive GeoGebra construction: a key angle calculated from the formula derived here is compared to the angle actually present in the construction. Using the validated formula, the amount of curvature expected to be present in a photo of the Earth's horizon from an altitude of 3 m is calculated. The result is an order of magnitude smaller than typical degrees of barrel distortion present in consumers' digital cameras. Therefore, claims that "flat horizons in photos of waterscapes prove that the Earth is flat" are untenable.

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

SUPERIOR CUTTING PERFORMANCE
SureLok® Electrode Technology
The innovative, patented, self-locking electrode mechanism
eliminates the need for an installation
tool and ensures precise electrode
and tip alignment. Both the electrode
and tip are stationary which results in
a highly defined arc and precise cuts.
SureLok alignment also means longer
tip and electrode life and reduced
operating costs.
Total Gas Management™
The SL100®SV 1Torch® introduces
a completely new tip technology which eliminates the
need for a separate plasma
gas distributor. Each tip
includes plasma gas ports
uniquely tuned to optimize
cutting performance at
its rated current. Select
from 20, 30, 40, 60, 80,
100 or 120 Amp tips to optimize your cutting. The result
is Total Gas Management. Precision gas control, longer
consumable parts life and better cut performance.
Superior Quality at All Amperages
Whether you are fabricating thick plate or cutting
ornamental shapes, the CUTMASTER® Automation Series
is perfect for the job.
At 120 Amp output, the CUTMASTER A120 produces
the BEST CUT on 1/2 (12mm) mild steel plate at 70 IPM
(1.86m/min). For those cutting intricate shapes, select low
amperage tips for kerf widths less than 0.045 (1.14mm)
wide.
Whether you cut plate, HVAC duct work or ornamental
shapes, the CUTMASTER Automation Series is right for
you.
Start Cartridge
High Frequency has been completely
eliminated from the plasma system.
A patented component called the
“Start Cartridge” sits between the tip
and electrode. The Start Cartridge is
in contact with the tip while the torch is
inactive. When a start signal is given,
air forces the cartridge to break contact with the tip and the
pilot arc is started. This unique design allows the pilot arc
to start without moving either the tip or electrode, resulting
in better parts life, cut performance and reliability.
The start cartridge is the only moving part in the SL100SV
torch. Unlike competitive torches, where the moving part
is in the torch head. If the moving parts of a competitor’s
torch fails, the entire torch head has to be replaced. This is
expensive, complicated, and time consuming.
Choice of Tip Shielding
Choose from two consumable styles:
Exposed Tip
Shielded Tip
Note: Use the Ohmic Clip with the Shielded Tip
design if ohmic plate sensing is required
• Shielded Tip for heavier plate
piercing and cutting
• Exposed Tip for cutting thin
sheet at low power narrow kerf

9. NOTE: Speeds reflected in this cutting chart are representative of optimum
quality and speed. The chart data comes directly from the operating
manual. BEWARE of competitor’s claims, as the data represented in their
brochure does not come from their operating manuals. Cut speeds in the
competitor’s brochure may be inflated by as much as 30-40% over the cut
charts in their operating manuals.
