This is a lesson plan or general idea of a botany class for college freshmen. I have included some resources that may come in handy.

Target Audience: College freshman interested in learning about
the basics of plants

2. Class Overview
This class will provide you with a basic knowledge of
plants.
You will learn:
- How to identify various plants on campus (this
will count as your lab credit)
- the basic parts of a plant
- the life cycle of plants
- How to sort through and categorize the plants we
learn.

4. Powerpoint
- Students can take notes off of the powerpoint for each class.
- One lesson may require the students to get into groups, choose a plant we
have learned, and do a powerpoint presentation on that plant.
- I can post this powerpoint to canvas so all students can access it, including
disabled students who may need it to be read to them.

5. Google Docs
- Students may have to write a research paper on a
tropical plant of their choosing. They will turn it
in by sharing the document on Google Docs.
- This can help with students who have trouble
writing, and need to use a computer to type their
paper out.
- Students can also share their paper with me for
quick edits, or questions pertaining to a certain
paragraph.

6. Wordpress.com
- This sight will be used for a blog that the students will make for themselves. They
will need to complete an assignment on their blog every two weeks.
- This will help students gain a better knowledge of using a blog, in case that interests
them.
- This also gives access to all students because it is done electronically. Other students
may view their classmates’ blogs if they get stuck and don’t know what to write
about.

7. Kahoot
- I can use kahoot in class to review before a test.
- This is a great resource because it allows students to use their phones to answer the
questions.
- Jeopardy lessons will include:
- Basic parts of the plant
- The life cycle of a plant
- Basic definitions of a plant
- Organizing plants
