The lack of connectivity in rural and suburban areas prevents businesses, innovation, school homework activities, telemedicine, and a lot of things that we cannot realize. The broadband availability is the new electricity. In depth studies support that broadband plays fundamental role in accelerating the economic and social development of a country. A broader base of people accessing the internet translates into more commerce and improved educational opportunities. The connectivity boosts the economical development and innovation in all possible sectors of a country such as health, agriculture, education and consequently improvement of the skilled labor. So, it is imperative to provide ways for million of people to access the internet with a very low-cost. Universal broadband access allows the society to meet part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership – which aims the end of poverty based on strategies to improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth. Universal Broadband has a potential to reduce poverty and hunger, provide access to health systems, minimize the gender differences and inequalities between affordable and less affordable population, provide access to better education, economic growth, innovation culture, and provide positive impacts in environmental, social and governance (ESG).

Most of the activities going on in the world today demand information and data sharing in one form or the other.
Consequently, the Internet and its connectivity has gradually become a household concern. The connection to the Internet requires
physical transfer of signal (data/information) from one point to another. This can either be through physical medium (wire) or through
the air (wireless). This paper a comparative study of Fiber Optics and Wireless Technologies in Internet connectivity seeks to identify
which of the two technologies is better for signal transmission in terms of bandwidth utilization, performance, reliability, cost
effectiveness, resilience, and security. The study adopted the use of secondary sources for the sourcing of materials. A lot of journal
articles, research publications, testbooks, white papers and many more were critically studies and comparatively analysed. It was clear
that both media have hitches and challenges. The study showed that although initial cost of acquisition is an inhibitive factor for fibre
optic connection, unlimited bandwidth delivery and high Quality of Service (QoS) placed Fiber optics above wireless connectivity in
their overall performance.
The scope of the WIFI project is not limited to a specific realm of the participants in the university. As part of a five-year strategic plan of the IT deanship, the project aims to create a consistent user experience across the various building of University, including the provision of wireless network access. The access to the network on the go can be a really great endeavor for the information exchange and the information fetch at instances when needed. This last issue became critical in the summer of 2014, when the more number of extra access point of the network are needed, which require civil work and extra time to get ready. This was a very typical scenario in which wiring and cabling was a burden and an overhead for the entire vicinity of the employees including the implementation team and the stakeholders. Moreover there are various issues that are known to everyone regarding the cable LAN and its maintenance. We had already traditionally viewed wired as good enough for everybody, however over the past times the scenario is changing and it is becoming a very drastic problem where the more the expansion of the network is done the more are the chances of the faults in the network and the system designs. Thus it becomes a very needful situation where a solution is to be figured out for the networks and its maintenance.

The Centre for eResearch and Digital Innovation (CeRDI) is a Federation University Australia (FedUni) Centre focused on:
• The application of information communications technology (ICT) and the development of innovative, world class knowledge management systems;
• Significantly advancing the digital literacy and knowledge management capabilities and capacity of partner organisations;
• Fostering, development and implementation of eResearch within academia and industry; and
• Measuring the impact of eResearch and digital innovation through longitudinal research.
CeRDI is also gaining national and international recognition in innovative spatial information systems.
This presentation showcases some of the diverse range of projects are that being supported through the team at CeRDI.
Projects are at various stages of their evolution with many sharing common goals to inform ‘big picture’ understanding and enhance decision making, create greater efficiencies in communication, increase the quality of information and support policy formulation and evaluation.

Technology has advanced significantly from the analogue period to the digital era. Digital Learning Technology (DLT) is a learning paradigm based on the use of ubiquitous latest technologies, by using smart devices. It can be described as a learning environment that is assisted in daily life by wireless networks, mobile, and embedded computers. It aims to offer content and interaction to students wherever they are, at any time. The learning process has advanced thanks to the technology revolution, which has also fundamentally altered how knowledge is shared and learned. At present, there exist other frameworks too, but they are centered towards different paradigms, and point of view pertaining to DLT with its emphasis on Telecommunication Sector has not been taken into consideration. As, existing frameworks are centered towards different environments hence there exists a need to add dimensions of Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Curator, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker and Creator, Communicator & Global Collaborator. These have not been integrated together in existing available research. The study will ascertain level of knowledge of DLT and examined factors which affect the adoption rate, use, and role of DLT in telecoms setups. The results of this research will help create a framework that, if used in any academic or learning setting in a technology-based firm.
