Descriptive Essay About My Favorite Place
For many people there is a sweet smell, a pleasing photograph, the familiar sound of happiness
that bring them back to a place full of childhood images. In my life, I was lucky enough to have
traveled to some of the most beautiful places on Earth. I have swum with the dolphins in crystal
blue sea of Phuket Thailand and watch golden ray of the sunshine set behind mount Fuji in Japan.
However, no places earth will compare to the loveliness of my childhood paradise, a place I
called home. Barbara Kingsolver writes, "I have a place where all my stories begin," and my
story began at a lake house located on the water edge of Little Toad Lake, Minnesota. (Kingsolver
939). It is where I spent half my life with my dog (Spike), sister, mom, and dad, through the hot
summer days and freezing winter months. The house was built on the side of a steep hill leading
down to a beach front lake. The main entrance had a big double iron door which lead into the
living room overlooking the lake. The main living area had several big windows which let in a
brilliant of sunlight onto the dark walnut floor. The fireplace mantle displays a big moose head
that my dad shot on his hunting trip to Alaska (his prize possession). My favorite place of the
house would be the kitchen. That's where all my lessons of cooking started. Thank you to my mom
for teaching me the value of cooking. If it wasn't for her I would be eating ramens every day at
college. Oh, the memories we had at the lake house. In the spring, my mom, sister, and I go on long
walks in the woods to go mushroom hunting because who doesn't love free food. I remember
making mushroom soup for the first time and almost burning my hands off because I forgot to
turn the stove down to low and the pot was overflowing onto the floor. I could still remember the
facial expression on my mom's face, let just say she was not a happy camper. One summer day,
my sister and I were out fishing with my mom on the pontoon and we were catching a lot of fish
and out of nowhere it started pouring rain. My mom started the pontoon and guess what? We ran
out of gas in the middle of the lake. It took as over two hours to paddle back to shore but thank
goodness it stopped raining. To this day we still

Descriptive Essay On Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls
There are many natural places all over the world. One of the places I have been to, and really
enjoyed, is Niagara Falls. This place is absolutely amazing. It has amazing sights and scenes, as
well as other fun tourist attractions. Going on the tour at Niagara Falls taught me a lot about the
site. I love this place because everytime I go there I am sent to this place that I could find, it just
takes me away I went to Niagara Falls when I was about 12. I stepped out of the car and just hearing
the incredible sound of the Falls, I was taken. It was so loud, just a huge roar of all the water
going over the edge. It surprised me because I didn't think it would be that loud. It only got louder
and louder as I got to the rail by the edge of the fall. Seeing the view of the falls took my breath
away. Between the blue of the flowing river water, the white of the rough water falling over the
side, and the mist of the water splattering off the rocks at the bottom of the waterfall, I was taken
by its glory. Add on the view of the city too and it was just an amazing experience for me. When I
went on the tour I was told a lot of facts that I found very interesting. For example, on the
American side it is 1060 feet long and 176 feet tall. It would be about 70 feet, but on account of
the rocks at the base it is 176 feet. Also, the American side has a volume of about 150,000 US
Gallons. Being as young as I was, I was super impressed with these numbers. They told me that
they are two hydroelectric plants in the area that change the volume of water that flows over. The
volume depends on the time of year and the time of day. The heaviest flow is travel season, June,
July, August, during the daytime. I found it incredible that these plants could change the flow of
water of something as grand as Niagara Falls. There are so many other things to do in the Niagara
Falls area other than just going to the railing to see the Falls. You can go on tours, whether it's the
daytime tours or the nighttime tours. During the night tours the Falls are lit with lights that were
placed behind the waterfalls. The lights are all different colors and it is beautiful. During the
daytime tours it is just looking at the falls but it is

Descriptive Essay On Campus
Iowa State University offers a large campus. The campus itself entirely is around the size of my
hometown. I have lived on campus for a few weeks now, and I know most of the campus, yet
spend most of my time in my dorm. Whenever I am not in my dorm or in class though, I often
find myself wandering around campus. When wandering around campus I usually look for the
best spots for me just in case I want to sit around and relax. Of my favorite spots to visit, they are
closer and very appealing to see. They however are also very popular places to visit, so many
students visit them. What I mean by closer, is that these places are not too far away from my
dorm on campus. I live in the Wilson Hall dormitory, known as one of the Towers, and it is quite
far from the main campus. Seeing as I walk everyday to and from the main campus to and from
my dorm, I tend to walk the same route, as to shorten the walk time it takes and be familiar with the
area. On days I walk to my favorite spot, which is the second concrete bench next to the Campanile,
and I just sit there for hours and relax. Wilson Hall's dining hall is called Storms, and is located
maybe 80–100 yards North of Wilson. As I leave through the North East exit of Wilson Hall, I
cross the diagonal sidewalk running from Wilson to Storm's East Entrance/Exit. I tend to eat supper
at Storms, and as I exit through the same entrance, I leave and grab an apple to eat along the way
heading to the Campanile. I walk up Welch Street,

Descriptive Essay : My Dream
In my dream, I am in a small boat in rough waters. It is a dark night, with a full moon, dark clouds
filling the horizon. I am sitting in a small wooden boat in the ocean or large lake. I cannot see
land in any direction. The waters are rough, with large waves rocking the boat. The waves are so
rough they are causing water is spray into my face. I am afraid that the boat will tip over and I
will drown. I hold on to the sides with both hands. Suddenly up ahead I can see large rocks in the
water, large waves crashing against the dark gray slick sides. My boat is going to hit them.
Suddenly I am traveling between the rocks standing stark and cold on both sides. My small boat
travels between several of them and into a rushing river. I am full of dread, I will certainly sink
and drown. I travel down the rushing river. There are high, dark cliffs on both sides. In the
distance I can see the cliffs ending and the river disappearing out of my sight. As I travel closer and
closer I can hear the sounds of a waterfall. I travel down the river, between the cliffs and over a large
waterfall. I fall from a great height, walking up in my bed, still filling as though I will drown.
Working With The Dream A small boat in rough water feels like I am out of control. Control is an
allusion. It is dark and I do not know where I am or where I am going. I am in a small boat alone
like life that is sometimes solitary and must be traveled alone. Life can sometimes feel rough

Descriptive Essay About A Beautiful Place
The sweltering breeze rushes through my fingers as I sit on the soft green grass in the park. It's
such a beautiful day, the grassy plane clashes with the sapphire sky and the sunlight illuminates
the delicate area surrounding me. I quickly find myself becoming captivated by the amount of
diverse people who populate the parks space. The athletic runners, dog walkers, and adolescents
hidden in their smartphones; which, astonishes me because who knew that such a beautiful place
could bring so many contrasting individuals together. I arise to my feet and began traveling down
a narrow path which aligns itself along a lengthy river, but finally converged with the parkway
ahead. An elderly couple sits at the end of the path on a wooden bench eating ice cream that
slowly drizzles down their hands and onto the wedding rings that occupies their fingers. I observe
the elderly couple for a short amount of time noticing how happy and gullible they act towards
each other. I slowly began to lose interest in the couple, but then the elderly woman's ice cream
starts to run onto her blouse and the aged husband runs to fetch some napkins, quickly returning
with them. A melody ringing throughout the park quickly drew my attention away from the couple
and directed it to the truck that rests on the side of the road. The truck has a window fixtured on
its side where a man hands out ice cream to a long line of kids waiting. Finding myself in line, I
notice a younger couple at the very front who

Descriptive Essay About Memories
Our lives are filled with many favorable memories, but only the best ones are formed when we
gain something from them. A great memory that I have is when I went to my first concert in
Richmond with my friend, Ciana, in March of 2017. This concert is one of my best memories
because it taught me how fun life can be, no matter how wild it may become.
My friend and I aren't wild people, but we do like to randomly plan crazy things. Ciana randomly
messaged me one month before and asked if I wanted to go see this band in March. With a why not
attitude, I agreed to go. I wasn't dying to see the band live, but I did enjoy their music. There was
three other bands playing at that concert, but I wasn't familiar with any of them. Becoming familiar

To our left, there were stands where you could buy shirts. Since they weren't busy, we decided to
give the tall vender forty bucks for two of the band's tour t–shirts. It was a quick interaction, so we
still had plenty of time left. We figured we would go ahead and wait in the medium sized crowd.
The only part of the room that was well lit, was the stage. As we patiently waited, the variety of
bright colors danced across the stage. Slowly, more people came in and filled the crowd area in the
room. The stage and band equipment was set up by these men who paced across the stage. As we
waited for what seemed like eternity, time slowly stretched like finely rolled out dough. Finally, the
lights went out, and the first band came on stage.
The entire crowd screamed as loud as they can. The lights came back on and the first band comes
out. As we are enjoying the music we're listening to, the singer asks the crowd to make a moshpit.
Instantly, everybody is pushing to the perimeters of the crowd area in order to make a clear space.
Forming right next to where my friend and I are standing, the mosh pit errupted. It was very rough
to stand on the outer edge of the moshpit, but thankfully, this tall guy was our savior as he blocked
us from the tornado of bodies within the moshpit. Slowly, we pushed ourselves away from the
moshpit and towards the stage. At this point, my arm had already formed a bruise from the

Descriptive Essay About A Happy Place
Do you like to be adventurous? Do you enjoy hanging out with friends and being able to start new
memories with them? Well this place in Ames, Iowa will soon be your favorite. Surrounded by
growing old trees, I am happy to call this my happy place, but to you it's a whole new area. It's a
new world that I have stepped into for the next four years. It's the center of attention for most
students here at, ISU but to me it's a special pinpoint on a map that can help with countless
questions. At nights where they are perfect, you will spend time with friends, get to have fun and
start new memories with them. Now you're probably wondering what this very spot5 is well, I am
going to share it with you based on the spectacular memories I have created here. Its filled with
wonderful sounds at every half hour. These sounds are like the wonderful noises that birds make to
one another. Not only is the music so peaceful, but the way that it repeats its same beat just puts a
smile on my face. The beat of the music may be songful to the ear but a reason as to why I chose
this was because it lets me know what time it is in the day. It is also a reminder to me that I should
be somewhere in a couple minutes. The reminder is a special aspect of why I wanted to share this
place with you because it can help you be productive in your everyday life. For example, this helps
me know that as the wonderful beat plays it is quarter to the hour and that I have to be somewhere in

Descriptive Essay On My Neighborhood
My neighborhood is unlike any other neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley. I truly feel like I am
at home and connected with the people in my community. Being in a different neighborhood when
visiting my friend's home or a family member's, causes a disconnect within myself. I do not feel the
same friendly atmosphere, outside my home I see houses on the same street, but no community. I
comprehensibly feel displaced because it is it not an area I value. The surroundings of a different
neighborhood is not significant to me. Despite my unfamiliarity, my observations I notice the
difference between my community and my friends or family member's. In other neighborhoods,
neighbors lack to know the basics of one another, something simple such...show more content...
Courage has been beneficial because, I am not shy or afraid to meet new people and socialize. I
gained confidence within myself because I do not feel awkward in social situations. Furthermore,
my neighborhood has shaped me into a charismatic person; it is helpful when encountering social
relationships outside of my surroundings.
Aside from the personal lessons, I have been influenced to be festive. During most celebrated
holiday such as: Fourth of July, Halloween, and Christmas, my neighborhood embraces their
excitement with beautiful decorations. According to the article Social Cohesiveness, Territoriality,
and Holiday Decorations by Barbara Brown and Carol Werner, observations on holiday decorations
were done on a whole block during Halloween and Christmas; the analyses indicated that attitudes
and behaviors combined to reflect degrees of neighborhood attachment, and neighborhood ties were
stronger. In a sense, it makes me believe my neighbors unite to beautify our neighborhood streets
while sharing common traditions, such as a Christmas tree or the birth of Jesus arrangement.
Holidays are my favorite time of the year, because I love to see the streets of my home filled with
jolly spirit. Around Christmas, I drive block by block to admire the lovely decorations. The sound
of celebration and the smell of festive meals fill the atmosphere. Supermarkets are crowed than ever,
parking lots, and traffic is so congested, but I feel satisfied seeing my neighborhood

The air was filled with salt and warm sunlight. The waves were crashing against the Hawaiian sand
causing a beautiful and relaxing sound. With flapping wings and squawking noises, seagulls were
stalking tourists in the search of food. The soft, hot sand was soothing to the touch. The palm trees
danced in the swaying wind and the aroma of distant barbecues and sunscreen wafted in the air. As a
native Floridian, the thought of a Hawaiian vacation was appealing. Hours of waiting began to

Crowds of people began to funnel in to this one location on the beach. I imagined that an animal
had washed up on the shore and could not get back into the water. My curiosity grew, and I left my
chair to follow the path of everyone else down the shoreline.
Upon reaching the scene, I became aware of what happened. I stared down at a little girl who was
lying face up and was unresponsive to family members calling her name. It was evident that she
had drowned and was on the edge of death. Life guards began to pound on her chest and start chest
compulsions. She continued to stay motionless. Quickly, lifeguards began the operations of CPR.
These long and tiring procedures made the lifeguards physically tired. The rest of the family
bickered back and forth on whose fault this was. "Why couldn't you just watch her and do what you
were told?" I heard behind me. The father screamed, "It was not my responsibility to do that, it was
yours!" The clear frustration began to build and caused more confusion.
The lifeguards circling around the little girl seemed frightened. Leaning closer to hear the rumors
being spread throughout the crowd, I unintentionally noticed the disturbing sound of gargling from
the little girl. She had regained consciousness, but could not breathe due to the water trapped in her
lungs. Policemen arrived on the beach and began to push back the imaginary boundaries
surrounding the circle of lifeguards. The police advised everyone to leave the beach

A Descriptive Essay About My House
One place that I see every day but don't put much attention to is my house. The house that I live in
is near by a park and a gas station. My house is small and cozy is made of steel frames, the anterior
part of the house has a beige and pink color that combine a beautiful shade. The inside of my house
has many portraits of family members and drawings. I have a total of two bathrooms and four
rooms a kitchen and two living rooms. We have a living room that's used for grown–ups and the
other one is used for the children. The kitchen table and chairs are made of wood, in the ceiling
there is big chandelier. The walls of my house are painted in different colors that are green, beige
and pink. I like that every room has its own different color, it's not boring it brings life and shade.
My house contains many memories of my childhood is where I grew up, I know every part of it
and its secrets locations. When I was a child I used to hide in the attic, nobody would found me
because no one knew where it was. Every time I enter my house I get a feeling of welcoming and
comfort, leaving the house would make me sad. I celebrated many things like birthdays, baptisms
and graduations, it means everything to me. It's a huge piece that gives me safety and protects me
from the rain, sun and winter. My house also has protected me from the outside world and violence.

Descriptive Essay About My Favorite Place
Rough Draft
Every year around July, the excitement overwhelms me. It's almost time to go to my favorite place
in the world...Hollywood. Located only one mile south of one of the oldest overland routes in
Arkansas, known to early white settlers as the Old Southwest Trail. It's so calm, simple, and full of
joy, clearly I am not talking about a wild community in Los Angeles. It is nothing like that at all, it's
Hollywood, Arkansas with a population of one hundred–three. The town is not the reason it's my
favorite, it's what happens every year during the last week of July. Davidson Campground carries
such a special place in my heart and I hope that I am able to pass that onto my children. For ten
days my family, as well as about one hundred other families, travel to the tiny, unique place to
worship the Lord. Although there are church services every night at 7:45, the camp does more
than fill me with the holy spirit, it sets me back to a simple life, before everything was at my
fingertips. During the time that I am there I feel so at home, all of my troubles seem to float away
in the spring fed stream that runs along the camp. Since birth my mother has taken me out to this
spirit filled camp, it's not a "normal" church camp where you drop your kids off, then pick them up
at the end of the week.
Upon arriving you will find a row of cabins in a circular shape and in the middle of the circle is: a
tabernacle, a volleyball net, a few playground sets, water faucets, ping pong tables and picnic tables
sitting in a row with a roof over them––for arts and crafts. After hours of cleaning and power
washing our cabin to get rid of the bugs and animals that claim the structure for themselves, I make
my way around the cabins to catch up with friends I haven't seen since this time last year. During
the day, after children's church at 10, the kids gather in the circle and ride their bikes, but most
importantly, have water balloon fights! Water balloons are an icon of what campmeeting is and as I
walk through the circle I can expect to be hit with one, but I don't mind, it helps me beat the
mid–summer heat. Right outside of the circle is one of the best things about camp meeting, the
commissary. It is fully stocked with bbq,

Descriptive Essay About My City
Our town is more home to us than our actual house. We make so much memories around town,
whether it's dining out with the family at a local restaurant or learning how to ride a bike at our
local park to spending our first paycheck at the local mall. Our town is very precious and we often
take for granted, what a privilege it is to live in a place where so much is accessible to us. We
often oversee all the little things our town offers like the stores, the parks, the many street lights
that keep our town well lit, and the well paved roads. Today I will discuss the description of my
town, the people that make up my neighborhood, and the perks of living in Orland Park.
Orland Park is a southwest suburb in Illinois. It is a well known town due to it's many fine dining
restaurants, shopping centers, and great school district. Orland Park is a busy town and to fit the
needs of the people, the busiest street was just remodeled. Lagrange Road was just remodeled and
widened into a three lane road in each direction. According to the Illinois Department of
Transportation website, "The project cost ninety–five million dollars and took three years to
complete." Now there is a brick median in the road that is filled with trees, flowers, and small
bushes. On the southbound side of LaGrange Road there is a walking trail, that is also used as a
biking trail. Most of the shopping centers and buildings all have the same design. The buildings
consist of tan colored bricks and long but narrow

How to Write a Descriptive Essay
More than many other types of essays, descriptive essays strive to create a deeply involved and
vivid experience for the reader. Great descriptive essays achieve this affect not through facts and
statistics but by using detailed observations and descriptions.
What do you want to describe?
As you get started on your descriptive essay, it's important for you to identify exactly what you
want to describe. Often, a descriptive essay will focus on portraying one of the following: a person a

It was a seemingly beautiful day as I drove on a joy ride in my bright blue sports car, with the

amongst my friends. That happiness was soon halted. As I continued driving, I saw a car coming
rapidly around the curve. The car did not show any signs of slowing down as it headed towards the
intersection. The light turned yellow and then quickly red. Another object caught my eye that made
me fear what was going to happen next. A young couple started crossing the street wearing fancy

is considered the town drunk and does not currently have a valid license due to drinking and

Descriptive Essay On A Trip To The City
The feeling of my breakfast trying to see the outside world again, combined with the earthquake like
turbulence made me more than ready to hop off the plane. It was ten in the morning and I couldn't
wait any longer to begin the start of a new adventure. Seven months had passed since my mother
announced that the family was going to take a trip to one of the most iconic cities in America. We
had looked up practically every single tourist attraction that New York cityhad to offer. After weeks
of arguing we booked a trip with a tour guide who would take us all around the city in a day. The
advertisement said we would be taking a trip to Queens, Manhattan, and to the Statue of Liberty.
The plane finally landed and it was time to explore and see what the "Big Apple" had to offer.
Heading out of our terminal, we were greeted by our tour guide, who had a face whiter than snow
and a gigantic smile. I walked into the bus and greeted the strangers that were going to accompany
us. As the bus traveled along the road leading to our destination, I noticed how different New York
City was from my hometown of Houston, Texas. Everything in the "Big Apple" felt more modern,
and there was a much different, possibly busier aura around the people living there. As I
contemplated about the differences, our tour guide had stopped at our first destination, the
Chinatown of Queens, New York. Walking out of the bus, I immediately felt immersed into the
community. It was as if everyone in the

There were waves of adrenaline pumping through my body. A million heart beats per second. I
was beyond curious to see what lie behind those huge sliding doors. So many cultures and places I
was ready to explore. I could not wait to see a whole new way of life. Once I stepped out of the
airport, I could feel the warm and humid air against my skin. Thoughts rushed through my brain
all at once. I was so excited to see part of the world that I have never seen before. My family
managed to find a taxi that could fit us, and all the baggage that we came with. The leather seats of
the car were cold, a relief from the hot weather. I sat in the car, glancing out of the window the
entire way to our hotel. The hotel was tall and had a cubic shape. A turquoise green color with
large, white beams running across it. When I stepped out of the taxi, there were people at the
entrance to greet us. My father checked into the hotel, and then we traveled out near the pool and
lounging area. Their was a crystal clear pool. As well as a gargantuan, abstract structure. It was
white and resembled a giant goldfish. We looked out and could see the ocean. There were people
parasailing and jet skiing. I immediately remembered the time I was in Mexico, all the people out
on the water. The sunset reflected perfectly on the ocean. Distinctly remembering the fresh water
scent ventilating around in the air. I got a similar rush being in both places, excitement and
overwhelm took over my body completely. I felt two emotions at the same time, all tangled up in
me. The view of this place was utterly breathtaking. The sun was beaming, and people below us
were bustling. I could smell the ocean from the hotel, it was a comforting smell. As if I were on the
beach or on a boat sailing away. The feeling that I got, when I stood above the new world below
me, is something that is hard to forget. Our first day in Barcelona was a blast. The sea breeze and
lights on the coast were priceless. In the evening we went out, in search for a place to eat dinner.
My face was beaming, since it was my first night in Europe I wanted to make it special. I put on
some very flattering clothes and made sure my sister brought her camera. We stepped outside, and I

My Favorite Place In My Home
My Favorite Place
There is a room in my home which is full of books and somewhat messy. It is my living room,
which may be not quite common. It is where I stay longest, study, and relax at home. It has
accompanied me for approximately ten years and has seen my growth. It makes every day
meaningful to me, and therefore, it is my favorite place without doubt.
My living room is different from an ordinary one. Indeed, most of common furniture of a living
room is there. There is just one thing missing. It is the television, which my family removed when
I was in senior high. However, the room also has many elements of a study, thereby it is
multifunctional and special. Stepping into the room, one can see desks for daily study, bookcases,
and shelves. Since I love books, books take up much space of the room. They flow from shelves
and bookcases to everywhere you may imagine: on the desks, in the schoolbag I bring to school, and

and sometimes I was so concentrated that I forgot about the time. So many important incidents once
happened there. The table used to be where my mother taught me basic knowledge and my first
academic tutorial took place. The starting point of my learning chemistry of senior high also took
place there when I was almost ten. Moreover, the shabby desk in the room always reminds me of the

until it reaches a tall cliff with waves crashing against it. The sun shines down on the moisture in
the air creating a "sparkling" affect to add to the view. In some spots on the coast giant rock
formations stick out of the water, creating a question on how they formed there. Sea creatures dot
the sand everywhere. Walking the beach with sand between your toes is and not a worry in your mind
is one of the best feelings. If you time it right early in the mornings and late in the night low tide
takes place and you can find sand dollars and unique shells. Beautiful houses and hotels line the
beach all with the same withered look they all strive to have, and balconies on every place to
capture the view. This destination is such an important place to Oregonians because its such a
magical place. It transports you into a different dimension where there are no other places like it.
You cannot be one the beach without a smile on your face, it's near impossible to be in a gloomy
mood when there. Mainly magical because you can escape there with family and friends with many
opportunities to try to experience new or traditional things. Like having a fire on a beach roasting
s'mores with family and friends, or trying weird sea creature at a restaurant. The Oregon Coast will
always hold a spot near to my heart. I can't wait for

Places To Write About In A Descriptive Essay

  • 1. Descriptive Essay About My Favorite Place For many people there is a sweet smell, a pleasing photograph, the familiar sound of happiness that bring them back to a place full of childhood images. In my life, I was lucky enough to have traveled to some of the most beautiful places on Earth. I have swum with the dolphins in crystal blue sea of Phuket Thailand and watch golden ray of the sunshine set behind mount Fuji in Japan. However, no places earth will compare to the loveliness of my childhood paradise, a place I called home. Barbara Kingsolver writes, "I have a place where all my stories begin," and my story began at a lake house located on the water edge of Little Toad Lake, Minnesota. (Kingsolver 939). It is where I spent half my life with my dog (Spike), sister, mom, and dad, through the hot summer days and freezing winter months. The house was built on the side of a steep hill leading down to a beach front lake. The main entrance had a big double iron door which lead into the living room overlooking the lake. The main living area had several big windows which let in a brilliant of sunlight onto the dark walnut floor. The fireplace mantle displays a big moose head that my dad shot on his hunting trip to Alaska (his prize possession). My favorite place of the house would be the kitchen. That's where all my lessons of cooking started. Thank you to my mom for teaching me the value of cooking. If it wasn't for her I would be eating ramens every day at college. Oh, the memories we had at the lake house. In the spring, my mom, sister, and I go on long walks in the woods to go mushroom hunting because who doesn't love free food. I remember making mushroom soup for the first time and almost burning my hands off because I forgot to turn the stove down to low and the pot was overflowing onto the floor. I could still remember the facial expression on my mom's face, let just say she was not a happy camper. One summer day, my sister and I were out fishing with my mom on the pontoon and we were catching a lot of fish and out of nowhere it started pouring rain. My mom started the pontoon and guess what? We ran out of gas in the middle of the lake. It took as over two hours to paddle back to shore but thank goodness it stopped raining. To this day we still Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Descriptive Essay On Niagara Falls Niagara Falls There are many natural places all over the world. One of the places I have been to, and really enjoyed, is Niagara Falls. This place is absolutely amazing. It has amazing sights and scenes, as well as other fun tourist attractions. Going on the tour at Niagara Falls taught me a lot about the site. I love this place because everytime I go there I am sent to this place that I could find, it just takes me away I went to Niagara Falls when I was about 12. I stepped out of the car and just hearing the incredible sound of the Falls, I was taken. It was so loud, just a huge roar of all the water going over the edge. It surprised me because I didn't think it would be that loud. It only got louder and louder as I got to the rail by the edge of the fall. Seeing the view of the falls took my breath away. Between the blue of the flowing river water, the white of the rough water falling over the side, and the mist of the water splattering off the rocks at the bottom of the waterfall, I was taken by its glory. Add on the view of the city too and it was just an amazing experience for me. When I went on the tour I was told a lot of facts that I found very interesting. For example, on the American side it is 1060 feet long and 176 feet tall. It would be about 70 feet, but on account of the rocks at the base it is 176 feet. Also, the American side has a volume of about 150,000 US Gallons. Being as young as I was, I was super impressed with these numbers. They told me that they are two hydroelectric plants in the area that change the volume of water that flows over. The volume depends on the time of year and the time of day. The heaviest flow is travel season, June, July, August, during the daytime. I found it incredible that these plants could change the flow of water of something as grand as Niagara Falls. There are so many other things to do in the Niagara Falls area other than just going to the railing to see the Falls. You can go on tours, whether it's the daytime tours or the nighttime tours. During the night tours the Falls are lit with lights that were placed behind the waterfalls. The lights are all different colors and it is beautiful. During the daytime tours it is just looking at the falls but it is Get more content on HelpWriting.net

It is relatively small, yet has been proven to have great importance and meaning. This dented, imperfect circle fits loosely, and comfortably which allows for the constant usage and handling. It has a unique, and undefined shape that compliments the small circles within the accessory. There is a band of a perfect line of small circles that runs infinite in the exact middle of the accessory. The thirteen small circles sit in the small seats of metal all in unison and order. Sharp, pointed tips that look like the top of a vintage castle, pull the pendants on the outsides of the line, up and back down. If you cut the jewel in half, the sides are...show more content... The ring's unique shape also has a symbolical meaning. The line in the middle represents the stability and exactness in my life. Unfortunately, like everyone else, my life consists of many ups and downs. This ring has inflicted an important realization about my life. • 4. Descriptive Essay On Campus Iowa State University offers a large campus. The campus itself entirely is around the size of my hometown. I have lived on campus for a few weeks now, and I know most of the campus, yet spend most of my time in my dorm. Whenever I am not in my dorm or in class though, I often find myself wandering around campus. When wandering around campus I usually look for the best spots for me just in case I want to sit around and relax. Of my favorite spots to visit, they are closer and very appealing to see. They however are also very popular places to visit, so many students visit them. What I mean by closer, is that these places are not too far away from my dorm on campus. I live in the Wilson Hall dormitory, known as one of the Towers, and it is quite far from the main campus. Seeing as I walk everyday to and from the main campus to and from my dorm, I tend to walk the same route, as to shorten the walk time it takes and be familiar with the area. On days I walk to my favorite spot, which is the second concrete bench next to the Campanile, and I just sit there for hours and relax. Wilson Hall's dining hall is called Storms, and is located maybe 80–100 yards North of Wilson. As I leave through the North East exit of Wilson Hall, I cross the diagonal sidewalk running from Wilson to Storm's East Entrance/Exit. I tend to eat supper at Storms, and as I exit through the same entrance, I leave and grab an apple to eat along the way heading to the Campanile. I walk up Welch Street, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Descriptive Essay : My Dream In my dream, I am in a small boat in rough waters. It is a dark night, with a full moon, dark clouds filling the horizon. I am sitting in a small wooden boat in the ocean or large lake. I cannot see land in any direction. The waters are rough, with large waves rocking the boat. The waves are so rough they are causing water is spray into my face. I am afraid that the boat will tip over and I will drown. I hold on to the sides with both hands. Suddenly up ahead I can see large rocks in the water, large waves crashing against the dark gray slick sides. My boat is going to hit them. Suddenly I am traveling between the rocks standing stark and cold on both sides. My small boat travels between several of them and into a rushing river. I am full of dread, I will certainly sink and drown. I travel down the rushing river. There are high, dark cliffs on both sides. In the distance I can see the cliffs ending and the river disappearing out of my sight. As I travel closer and closer I can hear the sounds of a waterfall. I travel down the river, between the cliffs and over a large waterfall. I fall from a great height, walking up in my bed, still filling as though I will drown. Working With The Dream A small boat in rough water feels like I am out of control. Control is an allusion. It is dark and I do not know where I am or where I am going. I am in a small boat alone like life that is sometimes solitary and must be traveled alone. Life can sometimes feel rough Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Descriptive Essay About A Beautiful Place The sweltering breeze rushes through my fingers as I sit on the soft green grass in the park. It's such a beautiful day, the grassy plane clashes with the sapphire sky and the sunlight illuminates the delicate area surrounding me. I quickly find myself becoming captivated by the amount of diverse people who populate the parks space. The athletic runners, dog walkers, and adolescents hidden in their smartphones; which, astonishes me because who knew that such a beautiful place could bring so many contrasting individuals together. I arise to my feet and began traveling down a narrow path which aligns itself along a lengthy river, but finally converged with the parkway ahead. An elderly couple sits at the end of the path on a wooden bench eating ice cream that slowly drizzles down their hands and onto the wedding rings that occupies their fingers. I observe the elderly couple for a short amount of time noticing how happy and gullible they act towards each other. I slowly began to lose interest in the couple, but then the elderly woman's ice cream starts to run onto her blouse and the aged husband runs to fetch some napkins, quickly returning with them. A melody ringing throughout the park quickly drew my attention away from the couple and directed it to the truck that rests on the side of the road. The truck has a window fixtured on its side where a man hands out ice cream to a long line of kids waiting. Finding myself in line, I notice a younger couple at the very front who Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Descriptive Essay About Memories Our lives are filled with many favorable memories, but only the best ones are formed when we gain something from them. A great memory that I have is when I went to my first concert in Richmond with my friend, Ciana, in March of 2017. This concert is one of my best memories because it taught me how fun life can be, no matter how wild it may become. My friend and I aren't wild people, but we do like to randomly plan crazy things. Ciana randomly messaged me one month before and asked if I wanted to go see this band in March. With a why not attitude, I agreed to go. I wasn't dying to see the band live, but I did enjoy their music. There was three other bands playing at that concert, but I wasn't familiar with any of them. Becoming familiar ...show more content... To our left, there were stands where you could buy shirts. Since they weren't busy, we decided to give the tall vender forty bucks for two of the band's tour t–shirts. It was a quick interaction, so we still had plenty of time left. We figured we would go ahead and wait in the medium sized crowd. The only part of the room that was well lit, was the stage. As we patiently waited, the variety of bright colors danced across the stage. Slowly, more people came in and filled the crowd area in the room. The stage and band equipment was set up by these men who paced across the stage. As we waited for what seemed like eternity, time slowly stretched like finely rolled out dough. Finally, the lights went out, and the first band came on stage. The entire crowd screamed as loud as they can. The lights came back on and the first band comes out. As we are enjoying the music we're listening to, the singer asks the crowd to make a moshpit. Instantly, everybody is pushing to the perimeters of the crowd area in order to make a clear space. Forming right next to where my friend and I are standing, the mosh pit errupted. It was very rough to stand on the outer edge of the moshpit, but thankfully, this tall guy was our savior as he blocked us from the tornado of bodies within the moshpit. Slowly, we pushed ourselves away from the moshpit and towards the stage. At this point, my arm had already formed a bruise from the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Descriptive Essay About A Happy Place Do you like to be adventurous? Do you enjoy hanging out with friends and being able to start new memories with them? Well this place in Ames, Iowa will soon be your favorite. Surrounded by growing old trees, I am happy to call this my happy place, but to you it's a whole new area. It's a new world that I have stepped into for the next four years. It's the center of attention for most students here at, ISU but to me it's a special pinpoint on a map that can help with countless questions. At nights where they are perfect, you will spend time with friends, get to have fun and start new memories with them. Now you're probably wondering what this very spot5 is well, I am going to share it with you based on the spectacular memories I have created here. Its filled with wonderful sounds at every half hour. These sounds are like the wonderful noises that birds make to one another. Not only is the music so peaceful, but the way that it repeats its same beat just puts a smile on my face. The beat of the music may be songful to the ear but a reason as to why I chose this was because it lets me know what time it is in the day. It is also a reminder to me that I should be somewhere in a couple minutes. The reminder is a special aspect of why I wanted to share this place with you because it can help you be productive in your everyday life. For example, this helps me know that as the wonderful beat plays it is quarter to the hour and that I have to be somewhere in less than twenty Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Descriptive Essay On My Neighborhood My neighborhood is unlike any other neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley. I truly feel like I am at home and connected with the people in my community. Being in a different neighborhood when visiting my friend's home or a family member's, causes a disconnect within myself. I do not feel the same friendly atmosphere, outside my home I see houses on the same street, but no community. I comprehensibly feel displaced because it is it not an area I value. The surroundings of a different neighborhood is not significant to me. Despite my unfamiliarity, my observations I notice the difference between my community and my friends or family member's. Courage has been beneficial because, I am not shy or afraid to meet new people and socialize. I gained confidence within myself because I do not feel awkward in social situations. Furthermore, my neighborhood has shaped me into a charismatic person; it is helpful when encountering social relationships outside of my surroundings. Aside from the personal lessons, I have been influenced to be festive. During most celebrated holiday such as: Fourth of July, Halloween, and Christmas, my neighborhood embraces their excitement with beautiful decorations. According to the article Social Cohesiveness, Territoriality, and Holiday Decorations by Barbara Brown and Carol Werner, observations on holiday decorations were done on a whole block during Halloween and Christmas; the analyses indicated that attitudes and behaviors combined to reflect degrees of neighborhood attachment, and neighborhood ties were stronger. In a sense, it makes me believe my neighbors unite to beautify our neighborhood streets while sharing common traditions, such as a Christmas tree or the birth of Jesus arrangement. Holidays are my favorite time of the year, because I love to see the streets of my home filled with jolly spirit. Around Christmas, I drive block by block to admire the lovely decorations. The sound of celebration and the smell of festive meals fill the atmosphere. Supermarkets are crowed than ever, parking lots, and traffic is so congested, but I feel satisfied seeing my neighborhood Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Descriptive Essay About Vacation Max Mudger Mrs. Oncu DE 11 30 October 2017 Narrative Essay The air was filled with salt and warm sunlight. The waves were crashing against the Hawaiian sand causing a beautiful and relaxing sound. With flapping wings and squawking noises, seagulls were stalking tourists in the search of food. The soft, hot sand was soothing to the touch. The palm trees danced in the swaying wind and the aroma of distant barbecues and sunscreen wafted in the air. As a native Floridian, the thought of a Hawaiian vacation was appealing. Hours of waiting began to accumulate when I was informed that my flight to Hawaii had been rescheduled. My frustration built as I sat and anticipated the start to my vacation. After the airplane trip to the islands, I...show more content... Crowds of people began to funnel in to this one location on the beach. I imagined that an animal had washed up on the shore and could not get back into the water. My curiosity grew, and I left my chair to follow the path of everyone else down the shoreline. Upon reaching the scene, I became aware of what happened. I stared down at a little girl who was lying face up and was unresponsive to family members calling her name. It was evident that she had drowned and was on the edge of death. Life guards began to pound on her chest and start chest compulsions. She continued to stay motionless. Quickly, lifeguards began the operations of CPR. These long and tiring procedures made the lifeguards physically tired. The rest of the family bickered back and forth on whose fault this was. "Why couldn't you just watch her and do what you were told?" I heard behind me. The father screamed, "It was not my responsibility to do that, it was yours!" The clear frustration began to build and caused more confusion. The lifeguards circling around the little girl seemed frightened. Leaning closer to hear the rumors being spread throughout the crowd, I unintentionally noticed the disturbing sound of gargling from the little girl. She had regained consciousness, but could not breathe due to the water trapped in her lungs. Policemen arrived on the beach and began to push back the imaginary boundaries surrounding the circle of lifeguards. The police advised everyone to leave the beach Get more content on HelpWriting.net

My house is small and cozy is made of steel frames, the anterior part of the house has a beige and pink color that combine a beautiful shade. The inside of my house has many portraits of family members and drawings. I have a total of two bathrooms and four rooms a kitchen and two living rooms. We have a living room that's used for grown–ups and the other one is used for the children. The kitchen table and chairs are made of wood, in the ceiling there is big chandelier. • 12. Descriptive Essay About My Favorite Place Rough Draft Every year around July, the excitement overwhelms me. It's almost time to go to my favorite place in the world...Hollywood. Located only one mile south of one of the oldest overland routes in Arkansas, known to early white settlers as the Old Southwest Trail. It's so calm, simple, and full of joy, clearly I am not talking about a wild community in Los Angeles. It is nothing like that at all, it's Hollywood, Arkansas with a population of one hundred–three. The town is not the reason it's my favorite, it's what happens every year during the last week of July. Davidson Campground carries such a special place in my heart and I hope that I am able to pass that onto my children. For ten days my family, as well as about one hundred other families, travel to the tiny, unique place to worship the Lord. Although there are church services every night at 7:45, the camp does more than fill me with the holy spirit, it sets me back to a simple life, before everything was at my fingertips. During the time that I am there I feel so at home, all of my troubles seem to float away in the spring fed stream that runs along the camp. Since birth my mother has taken me out to this spirit filled camp, it's not a "normal" church camp where you drop your kids off, then pick them up at the end of the week. Upon arriving you will find a row of cabins in a circular shape and in the middle of the circle is: a tabernacle, a volleyball net, a few playground sets, water faucets, ping pong tables and picnic tables sitting in a row with a roof over them––for arts and crafts. After hours of cleaning and power washing our cabin to get rid of the bugs and animals that claim the structure for themselves, I make my way around the cabins to catch up with friends I haven't seen since this time last year. During the day, after children's church at 10, the kids gather in the circle and ride their bikes, but most importantly, have water balloon fights! Water balloons are an icon of what campmeeting is and as I walk through the circle I can expect to be hit with one, but I don't mind, it helps me beat the mid–summer heat. Right outside of the circle is one of the best things about camp meeting, the commissary. It is fully stocked with bbq, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Descriptive Essay About My City Our town is more home to us than our actual house. We make so much memories around town, whether it's dining out with the family at a local restaurant or learning how to ride a bike at our local park to spending our first paycheck at the local mall. Our town is very precious and we often take for granted, what a privilege it is to live in a place where so much is accessible to us. We often oversee all the little things our town offers like the stores, the parks, the many street lights that keep our town well lit, and the well paved roads. Today I will discuss the description of my town, the people that make up my neighborhood, and the perks of living in Orland Park. Orland Park is a southwest suburb in Illinois. It is a well known town due to it's many fine dining restaurants, shopping centers, and great school district. Orland Park is a busy town and to fit the needs of the people, the busiest street was just remodeled. Lagrange Road was just remodeled and widened into a three lane road in each direction. According to the Illinois Department of Transportation website, "The project cost ninety–five million dollars and took three years to complete." Now there is a brick median in the road that is filled with trees, flowers, and small bushes. On the southbound side of LaGrange Road there is a walking trail, that is also used as a biking trail. Most of the shopping centers and buildings all have the same design. The buildings consist of tan colored bricks and long but narrow Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 15. Descriptive Essay Descriptive Essay It was a seemingly beautiful day as I drove on a joy ride in my bright blue sports car, with the wind in my hair. This is an everyday activity for me. My friends would mock me saying, "You spend more money on gas than you make working." I laughed to myself at the thought of jokes amongst my friends. That happiness was soon halted. As I continued driving, I saw a car coming rapidly around the curve. The car did not show any signs of slowing down as it headed towards the intersection. The light turned yellow and then quickly red. Another object caught my eye that made me fear what was going to happen next. A young couple started crossing the street wearing fancy attire. The first thought that came to mind was, 'they are...show more content... One of the police officers came up to me introduced himself, asked me my name and started, "Have you ever seen this driver before? On the road or around town?" I quickly responded, "No, I have not officer." He continued, "I learned from the call back to the station that the driver, David Chrisenger, is considered the town drunk and does not currently have a valid license due to drinking and driving". He asked me some questions and asked me to fill out an incident report. Still shaken up by the whole incident I gladly accepted. The officer ended our conversation. "Thank you so much for your time, Kevin. We really appreciate it." The only thought running through my head on my way home was how much I had not appreciated my wife and children. To witness something of that nature makes one conscientious about what you have and how quickly it could vanish. I vowed after that day to speak out against drinking and driving and the terrible outcomes that can transpire from something that some do not view as a "big deal". It is apparent that better ways have to be found for getting drunk drivers off the road. I encourage anyone to be responsible for their lives and others by agreeing to never drink and drive again, and to also aid your family and friends in doing so. Have a designated driver each night or call a cab. Everyone is capable of saving a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Descriptive Essay On A Trip To The City The feeling of my breakfast trying to see the outside world again, combined with the earthquake like turbulence made me more than ready to hop off the plane. It was ten in the morning and I couldn't wait any longer to begin the start of a new adventure. Seven months had passed since my mother announced that the family was going to take a trip to one of the most iconic cities in America. We had looked up practically every single tourist attraction that New York cityhad to offer. After weeks of arguing we booked a trip with a tour guide who would take us all around the city in a day. The advertisement said we would be taking a trip to Queens, Manhattan, and to the Statue of Liberty. The plane finally landed and it was time to explore and see what the "Big Apple" had to offer. Heading out of our terminal, we were greeted by our tour guide, who had a face whiter than snow and a gigantic smile. I walked into the bus and greeted the strangers that were going to accompany us. As the bus traveled along the road leading to our destination, I noticed how different New York City was from my hometown of Houston, Texas. Everything in the "Big Apple" felt more modern, and there was a much different, possibly busier aura around the people living there. As I contemplated about the differences, our tour guide had stopped at our first destination, the Chinatown of Queens, New York. Walking out of the bus, I immediately felt immersed into the community. It was as if everyone in the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Descriptive Essay There were waves of adrenaline pumping through my body. A million heart beats per second. I was beyond curious to see what lie behind those huge sliding doors. So many cultures and places I was ready to explore. I could not wait to see a whole new way of life. Once I stepped out of the airport, I could feel the warm and humid air against my skin. Thoughts rushed through my brain all at once. I was so excited to see part of the world that I have never seen before. My family managed to find a taxi that could fit us, and all the baggage that we came with. The leather seats of the car were cold, a relief from the hot weather. I sat in the car, glancing out of the window the entire way to our hotel. The hotel was tall and had a cubic shape. A turquoise green color with large, white beams running across it. When I stepped out of the taxi, there were people at the entrance to greet us. My father checked into the hotel, and then we traveled out near the pool and lounging area. Their was a crystal clear pool. As well as a gargantuan, abstract structure. It was white and resembled a giant goldfish. We looked out and could see the ocean. There were people parasailing and jet skiing. I immediately remembered the time I was in Mexico, all the people out on the water. The sunset reflected perfectly on the ocean. Distinctly remembering the fresh water scent ventilating around in the air. I got a similar rush being in both places, excitement and overwhelm took over my body completely. I felt two emotions at the same time, all tangled up in me. The view of this place was utterly breathtaking. The sun was beaming, and people below us were bustling. I could smell the ocean from the hotel, it was a comforting smell. As if I were on the beach or on a boat sailing away. The feeling that I got, when I stood above the new world below me, is something that is hard to forget. Our first day in Barcelona was a blast. The sea breeze and lights on the coast were priceless. In the evening we went out, in search for a place to eat dinner. My face was beaming, since it was my first night in Europe I wanted to make it special. I put on some very flattering clothes and made sure my sister brought her camera. We stepped outside, and I can Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. My Favorite Place In My Home My Favorite Place There is a room in my home which is full of books and somewhat messy. It is my living room, which may be not quite common. It is where I stay longest, study, and relax at home. It has accompanied me for approximately ten years and has seen my growth. It makes every day meaningful to me, and therefore, it is my favorite place without doubt. My living room is different from an ordinary one. Indeed, most of common furniture of a living room is there. There is just one thing missing. It is the television, which my family removed when I was in senior high. However, the room also has many elements of a study, thereby it is multifunctional and special. Stepping into the room, one can see desks for daily study, bookcases, and shelves. Since I love books, books take up much space of the room. They flow from shelves and bookcases to everywhere you may imagine: on the desks, in the schoolbag I bring to school, and even sometimes...show more content... I can still remember the old days. I used to be fond of intelligence toys and chess games, and let the toys and chess pieces occupy the table. I used to watch fancy cartoons or scientific educational programs on television with curiosity. I used to read novels or popular science books on the sofa, and sometimes I was so concentrated that I forgot about the time. So many important incidents once happened there. The table used to be where my mother taught me basic knowledge and my first academic tutorial took place. The starting point of my learning chemistry of senior high also took place there when I was almost ten. Moreover, the shabby desk in the room always reminds me of the time when I was busy preparing for the college entrance examination. Every scar on the desk is telling a story. The pen rushing on the paper, I tried my best to improve myself through all kinds of tests held by myself. Sweat was in my palms. The process was hard but Get more content on HelpWriting.net
