The document discusses research into using virtual reality to simulate natural environments. It summarizes studies that found:
1) Virtual natural environments like butterfly gardens provided greater feelings of novelty, escape and fascination than virtual urban environments, and led to more restoration.
2) Both virtual and real natural environments promoted restoration, but the real environment had slightly higher ratings for coherence and escape.
3) The research suggests virtual reality can be used to study human relationships with nature and provide insights, while opening opportunities to experience nature when direct contact is not possible. Further research is proposed on comparing natural and artificial elements, and different types of natural environments.
mHealth apps can be categorized into several groups including dedicated devices, fun apps, reference/education apps, location-based services, augmented reality, first aid, social networking, self-quantification, support, sales-driven, electronic health records, testing/substitution, miscellaneous, and add-on devices that combine with apps. Emerging technologies that could impact mHealth include paper phones, augmented reality glasses, and other innovations that may further integrate mobile apps and devices into healthcare.
This document discusses digital health technologies including m-Health and e-Health. It notes how doctor and patient relationships are changing with connected devices that allow for continuous data collection and daily monitoring between in-person visits. Resources listed at the end are suggested for learning more about personalized medicine, digital health, mobile health, bioinformatics, and developing digital health business models.
