                                Synopsis

Anthony Hoddle Mysteriously died at the Steetley Magnesite in
February 2012. His friends witnessed his corpse as he phoned for
help. Now a week later, after police find no evidence, Connor
Thatcher mysteriously receives a phone call from his deceased
friends phone to hear a distorted voice. He then asks two of his
friends to investigate the site where Anthony died. When they arrive
to the scene, one is met to their sudden death. Connor and his fiend
Stuart Wells run from the horror, to a safe distance. They are unsure
about what to do, or what to say about the incident, as they think
they will be blamed. As they hide the truth from all the suspicions
that surround their dead friend, deep inside their minds they are
guilty for the death of their friends, they feel as if it’s their fault. This
is when they start to hallucinate their friends in different aspects of
life. Unsure whether it is the souls of their friends haunting them or
whether it is the guilt of the deaths, they slowly turn insane trying to
get them out of their lives.

                         Opening Sequence

The opening sequence starts with Anthony Hoddle’s phone on the
floor at the scene of the death at Steetley Magnasite in an extreme
close up. The phone is then shown in the room itself in a long shot,
and then the building is shown and then the Steetley Magnasite itself
in an establishing shot. The scene then changes to Connor Thatcher
receiving the phone call from that very phone at Steetley, but is
unaware of where it is situated, and who exactly is calling, he is
placed in a panic, where he sets off in his car to meet his friends
down the steetley site which he has called after his panic attack. Here
they meet at the steetley tunnel, and his friends question the truth of
the phone call, while Connor shows them and asks for them to
venture forth into the site, this is displayed by a shot reverse/shot.
They then head into the scene where Anthony Hoddle died here, one
questions again Connor’s story and investigation, we see a 360
degree shot here and then the scene finishes with one of the friends
walking into the room where Anthony Hoddle died.
Appeal to target audience
The movie will appeal to the target audience of not only teenagers
(due to the main characters consisting of everyday teenagers) but
also the narrative of a supernatural thriller/horror makes it a target
for those above the teenage audience of 15 and above. The lack of
violence may off put the teen audience but in similar films such as
those as The Black Swan where the whole narrative attracted the
audience rather than the actors or whole idea of the film. This is what
we are hoping to achieve with our narrative and film.

                            Creative Ideas

We gained our idea from such films as paranormal activity and
Jacob’s ladder where there is an idea that something greater is
haunting them or that the characters are just hallucinating, but we
will leave what the actual truth of the narrative is to be down to the
viewer whether it actually is haunting or hallucination. We gained
the idea to set the film base of the narrative at steetley as it is half
demolished and dangerous, but also it makes believable place for
death and the eeriness of the abandoned chemical site makes the
                         narrative even creepier.

                                 Titles

The titles in our sequence will be laid over the actual footage a
technique seen in such films as ‘The Descent’ and ‘The Wickerman’
seeing as though our opening sequence will be dark it would be best
if the text would be coloured white so that the titles are easily visible.
In the titles we will be mentioning all the major roles within the
movie, including Director, Editor, Screenplay, Actors.
