The Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital (FVMH) was established in 2014 to provide medical care during combat operations and emergencies using mobile infrastructure like tents and operating rooms on wheels as well as stationary facilities. It is staffed by over 500 reservists, volunteers, and medical professionals trained in trauma care. The FVMH has operated in eastern Ukraine's conflict zone since December 2014, treating over 4,000 patients across multiple locations. It aims to expand its disaster medicine work and apply experience from the conflict to benefit civilian healthcare.
